Think this may be a short term problem as my experience was very different. I applied a few weeks ago on a monday and I signed an online agreement there and then. The pin number arrived on the friday and the card on the saturday. This is the quickest I have received a credit card so they are not always so slow!0

No card for me yet either....:( not that I am desperate to go out there and get myself in debt but the sooner I have it, the sooner I can use it and the sooner I can pay my payments on time.
This is my first c/c for years....was a bit of a silly girl in the 90's so am trying my best to get back to a sparkling rating. I have a mortgage, huge overdraft facility (which I didn't ask for - they shot it up from £290 to £2750 with no prompting from me! ), contract phone and a few catalogues but a decent credit card with a good APR seems elusive so after being declined for those I got this and am going to keep my nose clean with it for a year and see how I get on.0 -

Same here. They mention on the letter they sent with the credit increase that they MIGHT increase it again in the future.-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

I had a Protected Trust Deed (you English call them IVA's I believe) which was finished in 2005 and as a result I have a Sub Prime mortgage (yes, blame me for the collapse of the market!!!). Haven't missed a payment on it. Oddly enough though I got my file before applying for the mortgage and there was no mention of it and the mortgage was going along fine and it was literally at the last minute they brought it up....Although the rate is pretty high I am actually not too fussed as the fixed term end in 2010 and if I can't get a fixed rate then the variable prob won't be as much diff as I am paying now!
Also have a couple of late (I paid on the day online and they still charged me an admin fee and said it was late so I assume it must show on my file - am waiting for c/c so I can get file again as I can't get free trial as I used it last year) payments to catalogue from last year and I know have about 3 searches for a decent credit card.
So plan is, next November everything (unless this PTD is going to haunt me forever) should be clean and bright and able to get a decent c/c0 -

It's mad.....I nearly got a decree (that's CCJ's up here) put on me for a bill for .....£89!!! The PTR took care of it but really you wonder eh? These companies that put something on your financial history that will have an effect for years for such piddling amounts.....
And with all this anticipation, they better send me my puppy card!!!! I have visions of getting the scary lightening...or even worse - the St George Cross!!!!!!!!    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

I've actually just checked the website for my mortgage provider, and my rate is only 1.2% above their best fixed rate...so I'm not all that bad off really...of course when I got my mortgage last year it was happy times in the financial industry and they were offering fixed rates for silly money....;)
I'll just get this fixed rate out the road and then I have done my time and I can get a 'normal' mortgage the next time. Truth be known I was so silly with money ("bills? nah, lets go on the lash"!!!) I'm just grateful to have another chance to prove myself:D0 -
