    hello charlie and welcome,
all im wearing is a pair of joggy bottoms any old tshirt and aldis jacket, before i bought the jacket, just a sweatshirt, just wear what you feel comfy jogging in, itsnot a fashion parade,
what i will defo endorse though is a well fitted sports bra, (i went to m &s as they do free fitting services) and a good pair of running trainers not fashion ones, i got a real good pair of asics for about £30 in jjb
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

Hi i came across this thread the other day and have decided to give running/jogging a go . I was just wondering what you all wear and some ideas of any shops that do cheap clothes to go out running in. All I've seen so far in the shops are skin tight cropped trousers :o.

The only actual running gear that I wear are my trainers :) they were £30 from JJB, Asics.

I wear a pair of joggers that I got earlier in the year for my Race for Life (cost me £6 at the time) and just a tshirt and jumper.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.
  • Thank you for the replies, i have managed to find out some old joggers and a t-shirt. Just ordered a sports bra and i'm off to decathlon tomorrow to look for some trainers, so hoping to start my first run at the weekend or early next week :T

I'm glad I'm not running today! It's chucking it down!

My thighs are aching a bit, but not as bad as Saturday.

Hi all, this is something I've been meaning to give a go for a while now. Since I had my wee boy last year I've become terribly unfit and I'm one of those ppl whose faces go red with the very least exercise which is awfully embarassing. Can anyone give me any reassurance that they may have started from a similar state and are able to cope?

Try it! If you hate it, you haven't lost anything. But if you complete it, then you'll have something to be proud of :)

It's so easy to make excuses, but you don't know what you're capable of until you try. You can start tomorrow - a few of us are running then, so we can all feel like we're going to die together.

I have a really full day tomorrow - my plan was to run after work but I'd forgotten that I have a doctor's appointment between finishing work and my Russian lesson.

So I'll be up at stupid-O'-clock to get to the gym as I can do a run on the treadmill. I am not going out in the dark!

I'd have used the treadmill at home but I blew it up (literally!) on Saturday, only switched the bliddy thing on and it went BANG! New one being delivered next week, so hopefully that one will last a little bit longer... :rotfl:

This will be the second bout from week 1. Oh me legs ache!! :D

Well done everyone and the website with the podcasts will be featuring prominently on my Facebook page!!

    Me

I still go all beetrooty if I overdo it. In May when I started the Couch to 5k programme I was overweight and pretty unfit (I could walk for miles and miles, but had difficulty if I had to do anything more exerting than that) and I didn't have a hope in hell of running. :o I'm still carrying more weight than I really should but I'm able to do the whole 5k now without needing St John's Ambulance or anything  :D.

I'm no spring chicken (44) and I hadn't taken any formal exercise for years. I was a size 16/18 when I started and I've run off my extra pounds so that I'm a 12 on the bottom but still have 'an ample frontage' :)

Give it a go. It's very, very good for you. :D

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.
