I'm planning to take my car to the Deptford branch as it nearest to me. I used to get a local chap to do it but I think as it's test only I should bite the bullet & take it myself (plus I'm not working currently so have time & need to save as much £s as poss).0 -

Attracted by their discount price MOT, I took my car to Halfords Autocentre, Worthing, West Sussex.
I was charged for fitting new rear wheel discs and pads.
Pads were replaced only about 1,000 miles previously.
Also, I had rotated the wheels couple of months before and had checked the pads and discs.
The 'new' discs did not look like new, so I asked them to see the discs they took out. They told me that they binned them!
I had asked for cambelt replacement.
Bolts of the cover had paint marks. They were undamaged indicating that they were not removed.
I asked them for the old cambelt but again was told that they binned them!
I had to go abroad soon, so could not persue the matter any further.0 -

Should have asked them to get them back out the bin.0 -

This year I took up the 'Essential Care Silver service and M.O.T. Test' by the Toyota. It included oil and filter change among other things.
Failed at first but passed after they cleaned the front nearside brake for not much money.0 -
I have used the MOT testing station in Chelmsford, Essex a few times and funny enough the same MOT tester did it each time and remembered the car. I would highly recommend doing it this way, if you think its likely to pass of course... because of the new rules!?! My renault passed each time.1
