It is gas and brilliant! We had a BBQ at the weekend, a large one and friends brought their charcoal one. It took an age to get up to heat so if you're impatient go for gas! I know it's 'cheating' but I definitely wouldn't change!
The links below however this company were doing some recently for £99 delivered which is a bargain...... I missed out on this and got it for half price brand new in a private sale on ebay

Would avoid the argos bbqs if you can. We bought one a while back..one of those spur the moment purchases with the intention of putting it together and using it straight away..quality was appalling and bits wouldn't line up when trying to assemble. Ended up taking a half assembled bbq back and we had to cook our bbq food on the kitchen grill! We then got a trolley charcoal bbq from Asda instead which although cheaper (was on sale) was far better quality. Anyway we used it twice but since then it's been in the shed and has gone a bit rusty.
Whilst i like charcoal bbqs it takes ages lighting so you have to plan ahead more than for a gas bbq. As a moneysaving tip that i picked up from my Dad, we always salvage part-used charcoal....once we've finished cooking i pick off the remaining decent sized chunks onto a paving slab and then extinguish with watering can. Leave overnight and it can go straight back in the bag. Added advantage is it burns off grime on the paving too.0 -
Morning all,
I am new to the thread and thought I had better stick my head around the door. A bit of background, 5 years ago I was cleared out financially by my darling husband (yes, us women do come off worse now and again!) I rented for a while and last year managed to buy my house - however, "Lil" as she is known was a "total renovation project" as described by the EA. Oh, they were not wrong! I had no kitchen, a shower and a downstairs toilet. I guess this would be a good time to point out I had never done DIY in my life, not even change a light bulb!
So, here we are 6 months later, there is now heating, a kitchen and the bathroom is being created as we speak. There is still a long way to go but my little cottage is finally taking shape. It has been a VERY steep learning curve, so any advice would be gratefully received.
