I dream of carpet at least in some rooms. In fact I dream of just having a kitchen and bathroom to fit :)

No builders today and no indication of when they will start which was meant to be communicated in advance. If there is no word from them by mid afternoon I'm going to be on the phone. Our expectations were very clearly explained to the boss and he's already getting on the wrong side of me.

@jimbugalee - definitely not showing OH that picture of the puppies - she's already threatening to get a puppy while she's on maternity leave before the baby arrives so it could potentially be house trained prior to bump's arrival.

Latecomer ...... I don't think puppies/rennovation and babies mix very well! They are just so lovely though. I'm really looking forward to getting a dog. Nothing on the house is gonna get done for at least 6 months!

Fingers crossed the renovation will be finished by the time baby arrives - puppy is another matter. We both love dogs so I dont really have an objection provided it works for all involved but I think its definitely for after the baby arrives.

Congrats Latecomer on the builder and hope he shows up.

And in relation to carpets, that is so far down the line I haven't even thought about it. I did finally decide to extend my wood flooring into the kitchen - so at least that is one less type of flooring decision to be made.

Anyway, update on the blog for those with nothing to do while waiting for extra time to start!

It's to do with attracting the female and also as proof of health and a strong immune system.

Bright orange coloring suggests that a male duck, also known as a drake, is getting all his vitamins, particularly carotenoids, such as beta-carotene and vitamin A, antioxidants that can be beneficial to the immune system. “This indicates that his behaviors and genes are good enough for him to recognize and eat the right food, or that his immune system is strong enough to produce bright orange legs,” Omland says. “The female sees this as a very attractive trait to pass on to her offspring.”
