@TM - cant be much you haven't had fixed/replaced now. Sounds like the gardening/growing is coming on well too.
@ jimbugaleee - Sounds like the gardening is going rather well - somethign I would like to try but not sure how viable it is given our garden. Might be after some tips in the future .... once the extension is done
Well I had an interesting night. went to bed around 1am and took a while to get to sleep. I had just settled into a deep sleep when OH jumped up and said in a panic voice "Did you hear that bang - it was in the house!", I was vaguely awake but not sure if it was the bang or OH that cause this. Listened for a couple of minutes but didnt hear anything. OH then says she needs to go to the loo (but isn't moving) and I take this as a big hint that she would like me to go and look. As I get up and start thinking about it - I remember that the extension is open to the house now (after removal of my temp security) and start to be a bit more cautious.
I start looking around (starting in the extension as I suspect its sometthing thats fallen over) then back into the house and finally upstairs using the torch as I've got the electrics off. Somehting isn't right but I cant figure out what. After a minute of so of looking it dawns on me - its been tidied up.
But there is more to it,...... and at this point I realise that they've put the board insulation back up in the front room for something to do. And one of the bits has come down and thats whats made the bang. Result! All sorted and its back to bed time. Cant sleep though as I'm too awake. Finally get just about sleep after about an hour or so and .....WHACK.... another board comes down and wakes me back up.
Marvellous - got a maximum of about 3 hours sleep.
Just as well I used to be an insomniac
Couldn't help but be slightly annoyed - if they were putting them back up they should have made sure they were secure. But then I'm not paying them for the work so I cant complain really - and after all they didn't cut the insulation to that size.
And the joiners were trying to fix the folding doors in the kitchen this morning - their delivery is still delayed (same reason they were doing so much tidying etc yesterday). There is a problem with the lock - its barely lockable from the either side and unlocking from the outside is basically impossible. I left them trying to figure out where the problem is..... so hopefully it will be sorted by tonight.
They are also hoping that the local garage door company will come today and finish the installation of the door which they are going to use to get materials in and out once its operational.
Will need to get back into the habit of taking pictures to put on the blog0 -

Yes, I think the original owners would be rather surprised at what's been changed.
The new porch door is now fitted and very nice it is too! And it LOCKS!!!!! I feel a lot safer now although there's not much crime round here anyway, but at least we can get out of the bedroom window if needs be. We've had plain glass in the top half of the door and a panel at the bottom. All the windows and the old door were the sycamore patterned glass, which I don't particularly like, so I did suggest to DH that we had all the glass changed but for some reason he wasn't keen, so we compromised on plain glass in the door and it's amazing how much more light there is coming in now.
We might be having these guys back to make over the slabs/path in the garden. I've always hated the battenburg cake path and little balcony and I'd rather spend and enjoy our money than leave it in my will :rotfl: . Parts of the paved part of the garden are sunk, another [STRIKE]good [/STRIKE] bodged job by previous owner, he obviously didn't prepare it properly. Anyway, we'll have a look at paving/bricks etc and hopefully get something done if not too expensive............

Sorry, had to laugh at that last comment. I don't sleep well at the best of times so sympathise...........

5 eggs! - I'm sure she wouldn't miss a couple
Joiners fixed the foldign door in the kitchen yesterday - not sure what they did but it took them a fair while.
Its amazing the difference it makes when you have someone who knows what they are doing. they also removed both of the lintels between the old kitchen and the garage and put a new one in right at the top - other one should be done today. Will make a big difference to the amount of light coming in to the bottom of the stairs.
The delivery of materials turned up late yesterday so hopefully they will start making some real progress today.0 -

Latecomer5 eggs! - I'm sure she wouldn't miss a couple
Oh, that's not nice!
That reminds me. We were in Tesco yesterday and went to get something to eat. TD asked the girl could he have egg and chips and she said "Sorry, the egg machine's broken". Quick as a flash he said "What, the chicken's stopped laying eggs"!!!!!!!! :rotfl: . Apparently they have an egg cooking machine, not a frying pan. If the machine is broken they can't cook you an egg so presumable they're not allowed to use a frying pan temporarily.0 -
