What's an electric heating element for? Sorry, not that great with electrics!

Is that so that you can have the towel rail on when your CH isn't on?

Coming along nicely, ta Jimmie. Thanks for asking. Consultant is very pleased with the way his recovery is going, apparently better than a lot of people who has this procedure (some are still in Bristol at this stage!). His clinic appointments have been dropped from twice weekly to once a week :T. His only problem is that his feet/ankles swell very badly so he has to keep off his feet most of the time. This is a known side effect of one of his meds, the anti-rejection one. He still doesn't have a lot of strength or energy but in himself he feels good and all should come back with time. He still can't go anywhere because of the risk of infection but again time is the main thing, his new immune system will mature eventually.

He went for check up yesterday and he knew he was having a blood transfusion as his HGB was down last week. They couldn't bring him home because of the snow, hoping to get him back today. Trouble is this hospital has the Norovirus and has closed some of the wards, including the one TD attends but they are still seeing clinic appointments there . He asked about any problems with staying overnight and they said they were putting him in a "clean room" which has apparently had a thorough clean since the Norovirus was discovered. I hope that's enough but you can't help worrying since the Norovirus is an airborne virus.

I figured the rail would be on when I have the water heating up. We have a back boiler at present, no combi with us!

That all sounds really positive TM! TD is certainly doing well :) My mum works at a hospital and actually when they 'thoroughly' clean the rooms I think they do a good job. It's just when they don't need a good clean they get missed!
