Nothing to report from us. Builders were in one day last week to do some planning but they wont be back until thursday although the head guys will be there earlier.

We've said we want to see the new schedule before they start work as they are not getting to do all the easy bits to just leave the expensive and difficult bits when there is basically no money remaining as I'm sure we can all guess what will happen at that point.

I hope we are wrong about them but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens later this week.

We used ivory adhesive and grout although the adhesive doesn't really matter. Because our tiles were heavy we had to use quick setting adhesive. This took up time because it only last half and then you have to wash all of the tools, bucket etc and mix some more up. Are you doing the tiling yourselves?

I'll measure the towel rail later on. We got our from Screxfix which seemed to be the best price.

Ivory on the flooring too? How is it holding up? It's not too light is it?! I suppose that would be better all round, but concerned that it'd dirty too quickly?!

Found some curved chrome towel rails on Mr Central Heating site which seem reasonable?! http://www.mrcentralheating.com/towelrails.html

We also used ivory grout on the floor and its still ok at the moment but we were warned it would get dirty/stained. So far despite all the mess from the builders its still holding up ok so far. Mind you we are careful about not wearing outside shoes in the house most of the time and the builders themselves are banned from using our bathroom.

TBH I didn't even think about it getting dirty! I am worried now though .... hehe I don't think it'll be a problem as our tiles aren't a solid colour and slightly darker than the grout so I don't think you'll see it. Most of the floor is a wet room also so it gets washed every day :) One thing we did do but if you don't have a wet room this might not be applicable is use an ivory sealant (exactly the same colour as grout) all the way round the edge of the room. You can't even notice it but it will help with the wet room. We also sealed the tiles after grouting ... maybe this will help.

Good experience LittleRose? Delivery, ordering etc? Which ones did you go for?

Thanks Latecomer. How long has it been down so far? We don't wear shoes inside either......... maybe grey for floor and ivory for wall is the sensible choice!?

I see what you mean..... as the tiles we are after are slate, these will have to be sealed but I assume that's just a standard transparent sealant! It's not a wet room but a shower bath :)

    Hello

We went for the 500 x 1000 chrome one i think they may have put their prices up slightly since we got ours last year. Due to the urgency, we ended up picking it up from the show room ourselves as they took about a week for delivery but other than that very happy with it and they were easy to deal with.

Thanks for that, will need the larger one I think, definitely 600x something. How many towels can you comfortably get on the 1000 one?

Yeah I would personally get the biggest you could go for. We had to go for the smaller one due to the lack of space in the room. In terms of hanging towels on it, we just drape it over the top (bath towel) and you could put a couple of hand towels on the rungs below.
