New building very very noisy at night

  • I've been Googling to see who owns the car park, but to no avail (t does actually seem that Cabot's Circus own & operate it themselves).

However, you and your neighbours may want to contact these people about your plight http://bristol.indymedia.org/article/688953 they sound as if they would be the type to listen to you & air your dilemma to the public.

    Good luck

The noise is difficult, but bright lights are easier to deal with.

You can get a blackout blind from Argos for £12 which will sort out the light problem. We installed one in my daughter's room and her room is now very dark even in broad daylight.

Yes i know i can buy them, but i haven't caused the light issue, the new building has, i want the new owners to accept the problem and deal with it.

I think that's really unwise as you could solve it yourself so quickly for £12. It seems a bit like cutting your nose off to spite your face not to just fit blinds. Earplugs should do the trick for the noise - I couldn't sleep without them.

email the Chief Executive of the council, it worked for me, his people were on the case in a week, when a year of waiting patiently had got me nowhere.

So if a very large building was built outside your house and the lights were on 24/7 shone brightly into your bedroom at night, you wouldn't complain, feel disgruntled?

I don't want to drug myself up with sleeping pills, or use earplugs, what if there was a fire and i didn't hear people shouting, or if my son needed me during the night, or if i got burgled.......

Cannon Fodder thanks for the advice yes that sounds a good route to take.

But the blinds will offer you a cheap and simple solution to one of the issues in the meatime, whilst you complain.

Ask the council to fit double/tripple glazing.

If you explain the circumstances, especially with this big energy saving push they may do it.

And if some retard stands outside revving a bike engine just call the police it's a criminal offence under at least 3 regulations.
Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.

actually thinking about triple glazing as we have the cheapo council double glazing, but suspect that they will turn me down for the glazing :(
