Right, come on, own up, who thought of Dixon of Dock Green. Apologies to the under 45's
Okay I got it
Whatwait, it was me talking about ringing Scottish Power, but don't worry, I realise that my rate is capped at a price per Kw, I just want to know whether they will issue a refund for underusage, or all this frugality will be wasted
The capped rate applies to market rises, not usage, so you will pay your capped ppkWh whatever your usage (it's still good money saving to keep this low) BUT the ppkWh rate will not go up whatever the market does. (If you capped at a good rate - well done you! You won't experience the current price rises) Gas and Electricity prices are being hit by the financial sector uncertainty, IMHO. They appear to be reluctant to back something that isn't a tangible commodity. (It's hard to repossess electricity.)

Charlies-Mum, that's ok about the capped rate, just some have taken it to mean un-limited use. I would think it will work the same way as a direct debit usually does with gas and electric. They will possibly reduce your direct debit if you are well in credit.
Pen-Pin, do you think that her BF is trying to scare you and OH off by making a play for him
Morwenna, the Remoska does not have a timer, but I used a plug in one tonight and it worked fine. If you want a play, I will lend you my baby and the cook books
Redruby, your tea sounds awful _pale_
Kaat, hope you are feeling better
Annie, good luck with the interview.
Heidiboo, hope babyboo has arrived.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Back again, at last
Been real busy, but dont seem to have got a lot done
Done shopping for us, Mum and MIL, been to the bank, picked tickets up for holidays, OH went to Post Office for MIL's pension and sent some charity parcels of knitting off for me.
I spent an hour or so sorting wool, then stripping some old files out, had dinner, put rubbish out....what an exciting life I lead
Mum rang to say she had found her wedding ring, its been missing for a couple of days.
She has lost a lot of weight while she has been so poorly, and it kept falling off. It was in the pocket on the side of her chair.
Anniestar hope the interview goes ok x
Penny-Pincher he sounds awful, and definitely not the full shilling:eek: funny though :rotfl: :rotfl:
Marie I hope they get things sorted for OH soon xx
KAAT hope you feel better soon :A
redruby :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Ah well I think I will go have a glass or 3 of white
Night all

Wonder if Baby Heidiboo has made an appearance yet?0 -
hiya,
it's my first time here (i think) i'm a bit of a lurker on the OS board... but have decided that i need some motivation this month to get my house and budget sorted.... (also if anyone knows how to find an extra hour or 2 a day that would be awesome...).)
Welcome to you nimbo  you will love it in here its really friendly, and sooo helpful, but, an extra hour or 2 a day, hmmm dont think so, but if you find out how we would all love to know :rotfl:

Morwenna, thanks for the offer, but the need isn't that urgent....I'm just a bit put out because I Freecycled my mum's Jones machine before I moved up to the sunny (!!) Fylde coast because I wouldn't have need for it  Anyway, if i hang on, OH will pay out of guilt for his buying of gadgets
(as long as I can keep him out of Frets, that is!)
Have just checked on Ebay at a pair of boots I thought I wanted - but not at that price! I could have got 2 pairs for that last week!! Think people are a bit crazed on Ebay at the moment - things seem to be going for silly prices. Not so bad if you are selling, but not if you want to buy
Hey ho, nearly bedtimeWhich reminds me, I need to buy a new hot water bottle....where's the best place for them nowadays? My last one was from a corner chemist about 9 years ago (just after I got rid of the ex-husband in fact
) but it's gone all funny & leaky now. Do Mr T's do them?
Ooh, Whatatwit, where are the £1.77 fleecy throws in Asda....? Are they in Fleetwood or Marton? Is there much colour choice and are they warm ones?
Am off now, before I fall asleep on the keyboard and wake up with B N M , . / embedded on my face

Popped back to say
Thanks Whatatwit - that's a generous offer, I will bear it (very gratefully) in mind
I had to read back cautiously as DD2 likes the smilies and reads over my shoulder when I am on here, so I couldn't go and see what PP meant. Okay we are after the watershed - I think your Dsis's BF doesn't know which way to turnIYSWIM - not funny, but as others have said, he could be doing it to antagonise you and DH .. prevent your intervention about his lack of financial input - okay, just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean everyone isn't out to get me :rotfl:
Seriously though, reassure yourselves on the divide to conquer front. I hope I haven't offended.0 -
Hi all
I tend to post on the flylady thread and Stormbay's but am trying to PM anniestar but her inbox is full. Hoping she will see this and clear her inbox as I see a few of us want to contact herOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Floss, I got mine at Marton, they only had cream in, but apparently they also do chocolate. They are only thin, but seem quite warm.
I think I got my last hottie from Poundland.
I peeked into the sewing machine shop on the Crescent, he does re-con ones as well as new.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

Funny enough floss, I have just bought two from ebay, they arrived today, they have lovely fleecy covers, and my dd and I are at here with one each, they are lovely and snuggly x
whatatwit yup dinner was dreadful
Night all xx0 -
Evening everybody,
Heidiboo - you poor thing, I can't believe you're still here. Hope tonight's the night!
meanmarie - I hope Ulick is continuing to improve. I haven't been on OS much over the summer, but have got the gist of what's happened. Hugs to you.
PP - Never a dull moment in your house, is there?
Welcome to the newbies
I decided yesterday that because my evenings aren't busy this week, I am going to make a conscious effort to behave myself. Plenty of going to the gym, no alcohol, enough sleep etc etc etc. Need to kick off losing some weight (been going half-heartedly to the gym for a year now!) and getting a bit fitter and less tired. I went to an aqua circuit class this evening and am just about to have some sausage casserole and brown rice for my dinner. And the telly hasn't been on since I got home from the gym. I did have to buy a bottle of "grown up" soft drink though - a Tesco Finest grape juice and elderflower drink - so I had something to sip when I got home and didn't crave a glass of wine
I picked up my new bedroom TV from a Freecycler yesterday and it's in perfect working order - I got it set up and working straight away. It means I can watch the breakfast news in bed again... I love Freecycle!
Anyway, I am trying to write three reviews, so best get on with it.
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape
