decided to use some free tickets we had and go to Belvoir castle on saturday (did pack up to make it a cheap day) half way their noticed we were getting beeped and flashed by a taxi follwing us. turns out we were spewing diesel all over the road:eek: . spent almost an hour waiting for the RAC while taking it in turns to hold something over the hole to try and save some fuel. The bung and cracked on the drain filter when DH tried to tighten it it sheard off in his hand and made the problem worse, finally DD managed to find a pen lid to stuff up the hole and slow it down. we'd only filled up the day before and had to put another £75 in on sunday!!! . We still managed to get to the castle but had to fly round

  • Hi all, up late busy filling in reviews of books on a New Zealand book site, as I am trying to get enough credit ($0.20c per review, only if it hasn't been reviewed before ;) ) to get a free book for my son for xmas.

The book I want to get him including postage is about $20, which is a lot of reviews! Hehe, but I figure they often have a clear your cart and take $10 off sale, so I might be able to do that if it happens any time before xmas, in which case I only need to get to $10. Have been doing $1 a day, in which case it will only take me a little over a week

Hope everyone is well, and ((HUGS)) to those who need them

WS, how big is the bit of brisket ? if you put it in the sc now it should be done by 6 ish, shove it in and take little bear to the park, the rest can wait :D .

Squiggly, nephew generally seems to be happier at the home, although I feel he thinks he has been abandoned, he is better away from home, and his useless parents, but I think his ideal placement would be with foster parents, he would need to be an only child though, and they would have to be very strict. I swear I could sort him out, but I can't have him here with my dd, Its a very sad situation, the home are onto the bullying thing so hopefully all will be sorted soon. Thanks all for the good wishes.

Taplady hugs to you on this sad day xxxx

    Nimbo, welcome xx

Well I have three loads on the line, where does it all come from  , have vacumed house, mopped floors, put dw on, cleaned car out, it was disgusting :o , going to have some lunch now, then take little dog up the beach,
Sunnyday she will walk for hours on end, I think the most we have done with her is 15 miles, and she is still full of beans  , my sister thinks she has a screw loose :D

    Hugs where needed

I'm sure I read about someone contacting Scottish Power to do with their capped rate.....
Please all check if you are on a capped rate as to exactly what it means. Some capped rates only mean that your rate will not increase above the capped price per Kwh and will fall if prices fall.
But, some people have been misled into thinking that the capped price means that you can use as much electric/gas as you like and only pay a fixed amount.

It's a bit like Tesco guaranteeing tins of beans for 20p but if you buy 10 tins, you still have to pay £2 not 20p.

Sorry if I have frightened anyone, but please do check your terms and conditions as I would hate for anyone to get an unexpected bill.

chocolate.orange - (What a great name!) Thank you for the OH's birthday wishes, and well done on being able to drive again, you must feel great!
mioliere - I have asked the MIL for the recipe, she said she had been making it so long she just threw it all in but is going to write it down best she can and pass it along and I will post it as soon as I have it!
Sqiggly - never knowingly fed up of chocolate cake..rofll.gif
    D&DD - Welcome back hon

I made pork meatballs last night... I put in a lot of veg etc which meant they shrank in the cooking due to water loss but mmm they tasted good. I wrote it down so if anyone wants it I can type it out later. It made 36 in total so we have them again for dinner tonight.

Finally got out inthe garden yesterday too and collected the last of the tomatoes. The plants are now gone so just peppers and chillis still to harvest and we used some of them .

Hope you all have a good day.

*Hugs* grouphug3.gifto all who need them today and congratulations to anyone who is celebrating anything. celebrate.gif

  • I have lost my onions!

I aspire to Lady Sybil's attitude not lifestyle and live in a small back to back. How can I lose a big bag of onions?

Little bear is very grumpy, and just sitting around with a productive nose. I have placed the brisket firmly in the freezer and shall worry about it another day. I shall now review my list. Now it is getting very overcast and blowy I am wondering whether to take a grumpy, green nosed bear further than the post office.

I can't believe I have lost my onions. They weighed so heavy when I tottered home them on Saturday.

DH is working from home today!!! He seems to have developed an uncanny ability to tell when I have ordered something that is about to be delivered.

The doorbell rang and I answered it - then he asked what was at the door- I told him my Remoska had just been delivered and he groaned aloud!!!!!!

Thinking quickly (for once) I told him I wanted to try it out and there was a recipe for Yorkshire pud (his favourite) - he and DD have just shared two large yorkies with gravy!!!!

I have a cooked breakfast in it at the moment and might try a home baked loaf in it later.

DH has stopped grumbling , mainly because he is full of yorkshire pud and I told him the remoska should be much more economical as it uses much less electricity than the oven, even the small top one!

Went to pick up my prescription from the gp this morning and spent the last hour or more playing with "moskie!"

Hugs to everybody and see you later!

Morning all DS3 has only just left for school (yr 13) so I'm lagging behind already :p
Have hoovered and vaguely dusted, fed DS2 now got to do his skincheck and bedbath.

OT have delivered a perching stool for the (non existent) shower... said it was for when we get one but can't assess for it until January ...then we're looking at up to a year for installation...as he's not considered 'urgently in need'... don't even start me on that one!!!
They have told us to take him to the local swimming baths until then *bearing in mind he is bedbound* I don't know wether they were taking the pi** or not!

Hi D&DD, let me get this right your DS is bedbound, and they don't see his case as urgent ? and then to say take him to the swimming baths, how insulting, reading that made my blood boil
