Morning all
Well, N9eavs post was all about food, and Aussies was about men with their tops off
Cool here today, definitely Autumn has arrived - but still determined not to put the heating on. Capped with Scottish Power until September next year, but forgot to ask what happens if we use under our estimated usage. If I'm not going to get a refund, might as well stick the heating on
Commiserations to anyone with Bradford and Bingley shares, apparently they have dropped from £3 to 20p, I wouldn't mind, but they offered us more shares a few weeks ago at a knock down price of £2 something, just glad we didn't buy any.
Work today, so sandwiches for lunch and leftover chicken in curry sauce and jacket potatoes for dinner.
Have a great day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Morning :hello:
Mr troo has gone back to workI'll join Pipkin with the decluttering, I have the urge to shred
I've just filled the sink so will get on with some handwashing in a mo - need more coffee first, I'm a bit like thisI want to spend the afternoon in the garden, there's loads to do out there. I was flicking through my Thrifty Ways book yesterday, there's recipes I haven't tried yet so I'll have a go at those over the next few days.
I've got some cute animal pics, I'll link to them later - when I've found the memory card and can upload them
Ooooh and I mentioned my friend's smallholding the other day - it's actually farm-sized. I only found out when I asked him were the chooks were going, he said 'in the middle'. I said 'about here then?' (standing next to a barn), he said 'that's not the middle, that's the edge, we own that field over there and that one going down the hill...' etc. I'm even more jealous now. lolI am a coffee bean0 -

Off to the vets in a bit for big dogs acupuncture seems to have made a difference so hopefully even better today.
Ds is in a horrid mood again at the moment he better change his attitude or will not be going on the fire service course next week this am he couldnt get up as too cold and then when he got out the back of the car he was pushing the seat forward as his sis was getting out and managed to hit her head which according to him was her fault as she should have got out quicker:mad:
looks like i need to get over to the DFW board as our savings are now virtually non existant and the prospect of a job any time soon is not looking good.

There's something very therapeutic about shredding troo. We have an electric one that just snatches the paper out your hand when you get close enough
Loving your little blue smilie.

Good morning to you all,it's cold and windy today so different to yesterday and I'm rushing to get all my washing out to dry before the promised rain arrives.I've already got two loads out,one in the machine and one waiting to go.
It was a chilly night and OH could'nt sleep he was a bit jumpy incase whoever came and vandelised his car last night came to finish the job off.
It just goes to show,we live dead opposite the police station and we still get our car windows smashed.Still we've never had any problems before. We have cameras all the way down the street and it never shows anything up.I sometimes wonder why the police bother with them.Someone actually planted a tree in the garden one night when we were in bed and took one of our garden urns at the same time all in the light of the police station one summer and nobody saw anything at all. That I did find funny though as someone obviously had a sense of humour.
On a positive note my OH seems to be on the mend and I can confirm he is not going to die from his bout of man flu despite him assuring me for the past week that he was on his last legs.To be honest I think he got such a shock last night he's forgotton he was supposed to be ill.Dare'nt let him hear me say that though.
N9eav - enjoy your barbecue.Hope it stays nice
Mean-marie-hope your Ulick is still improving.Don't forget to look after yourself too.
Redruby- I remember my three daughters school photos and no matter how much beautifying we did befeorehand by the time they took the photo's they still ended up looking like little raggamuffins.
Sammyjig- sorry to hear about your toothache.Just been through it myself and the relief I got after my visit to the dentist was wonderful.I hope you get it sorted out soon.
Well to everybody try and have a good day,I know I am.
Take care xxx.0 -

Morning all!
Sad day for me today as its 5 years to the day(was a monday) when my dear Dad died suddenly from a heart attack while pruning roses in the garden. He was 68. I will pay a visit to the grave later with some flowers.
PP - hope the hospital visit goes well x
(((hugs))) to those in need of one.
Catowen and Mrs_Mix - :hello: :hello:Do what you love :happyhear0 -
hahaha ours does that too. And, what's even more therapeutic is - if someone has really peed you off, you can pretend it's their head that you're shredding. Or is it just me that does that? :rotfl:
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Will give that one a try troo.
Need to wake DDs up now, otherwise they would sleep all morning. I used to have to get them up at 7 when they were at school, and DD1 especially, hated the early starts. Have to say I enjoy us not having the morning battles any more.

Sorry to hear that taplady. Along with the sadness you feel, think also about the happy times you shared. I know it won't ease how you feel, but will bring comfort too.PP - hope the hospital visit goes well x
Ditto PP. Hope the visit goes well.

Morning all
Was raining here on the school run (why do I call it a run when it's more of a slow amble down the road looking in peoples gardens) But looks a bit more promising now so will go get a load of washing on in a bit.
Got ebay stuff finishing today - I normally do 10 day auctions but used the 3 day one this time - have made as much as I thought I would so more than happy.
Spent yesterday sitting besides the river whilst DD's fished with nets, they caught loads and were having a lovely time until some other kids arrived with their parents and decided that they'd try holding some of the fish and kept whinging about having a go with the nets...I'm all for kids sharing but mine are polite enough to wait until they're offered a go. The parents wandered off out of sight too and left 4 kids under 8 next to fairly deep water, I wasn't amused.
Ironing to do today, I've swished and swiped the bathroom and kitchen - beds have been aired and remade and I've swept the downstairs through. Would like to make some cakes at some point but the bottom oven still isn't working and the top is to hit and miss. Turkey burgers and coleslaw for tea with corn cobs and maybe a few potato wedges.
Hope you all have a great day"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
