morrisons credit crunch offers( aka 50p items)

as from tomorrow(monday 29/09/08) morrisons are running a varient on its 8 items for 50p promotion, this one being i think either 4 or 5 items for £6, it is based on an indian takeaway, i noticed one of the products is a indian meal for one( the type you get in a bag including curry, rice, naan bread), and another of the items is poppadums, cant remember the other items i will post after i seen them tomorrow, HTH Dave.

EDIT: full list of products on offer are as follows

morrisons indian meal for 2 £3(down from £6.49)
morrisons poppodams 50p(down from 91p)
sharwoods mango chutney 50p( down from 99p)
cobra 4pk £2(down from £3.69)

so not bad for a night in for £6, total saving of £6.08 so basically it ends up less than half price

  • Morrisons' deals seem to be getting more 'niche' every week. But what do I know? Apparently they are currently performing better than all the other 'main' supermarkets, so they must be doing summat right...

for once for a company that are so far of the pace, they have tapped into the credit crunch really quickly, they was the first of the supermarkets to really go all out with the advertising( price crunch clever twist on credit crunch) and have managed to get some fantastic offers into the stores over the last few months, which has helped keep customer footflow through the store, a bit like last christmas, no one expected them to hit the advertising trail so hard and so fast( as they don`t usually apend that much on it), they spent at least double and in some cases more on advertising in the run up to xmas than asda, tesco`s and sainsbury`s and caught them all napping for a change, had a really strong xmas because of that and they have built on it ever since, i have to say even though i work for them, i think the stores are layed out fantastically well, i used to work at tesco`s, and i quite often walk around the store i used to work, and find myself comparing the two different stores, and at the moment there is no comparison(only my opinion), but anyway enough of the free advertising for them(they should pay me, lol) and enjoy this offer, it is well worth it, Dave

  • I am now beginning to worry about going into a Morrisons. If Spaceman5 is anything to go by, they are obviously brainwashing/programing their staff - scary!

  • Think back to the first great 50p deals this new offer is poor in comparison all the stores have half price deals.
If ive helped click thanks it will make me smile :D

lol, no i was just expressing my opinion, they are by no means the best company to work for, i have worked for worse companys, but then again a lot better companys as well, they are so far behind the times in almost everything they do, i expect to go into work and find noahs ark in there, Dave

I hope they keep to their traditional market street feel, i think that's what makes it more a more structured shopping trip for me.[/quote]
