Hypno, that's odd, mine is the same. It was really bad just sitting/lying down but when I was out walking around (ok, I admit it...shopping) it seemed to go away completely. Perhaps it's a posture thing? Maybe something that's been building up since you started your job, or all the stress of the past few weeks at work meaning you're neck is tense while you're sitting at the screen? Maybe not. But mine has definitely been worse since I started the Ebay challenge and have been spending loads of time at the keyboard.

PP, maybe we are cosmic sore neck twins :D

I resorted to sleeping in a "collar" last night - not much fun, but once I got used to it, it did seem to help, so I may use that again tonight to help make the most of the extra hour we get due to the clocks going back. No point in having an extra hour if you can't sleep!

Teaching today - tbh I am not really looking forward to it. I was supposed to be teaching a different (nicer) subject but they had difficulty getting someone to teach this other course, and I found myself agreeing to switch  Oh well, I will get through it, and it will be another few £££ that will eventually come my way (adult ed are notoriously slow in paying!).

Apart from that, I need to go for a run, in daylight hopefully!, and do some mega housework because the student's parents are coming to visit/inspect tomorrow

hope you all have a good day xx

I didn't realise about that switch, hypno - you're too nice!!! I'm concerned to hear your neck is bad enough for a collar to help you sleep - its been made worse by the running? Then its not healed! You need more help! Please look after yourself, you remember how we all got on to Pania about her eye and the running? We don't want to have to do the same with you about your neck!

Take care hun. Lots of hugs.

Morning Hypno...hope you have a good day.x and hopefully get some rest in there.
  • Morning hypno - yes, remember pania's eye, so make sure you don't over-do things and make your neck worse. Was this originally caused by that car accident from a few months ago?

yes, it is that old car accident injury - one step forwards, two back  But it does actually feel better when I run. How bizarre that when I run 5 miles, it doesn't hurt, but when I lie or sit still, it is agony!!

Have done my teaching for today - wasn't the best workshop I have done, but it was ok. I won't be volunteering to do it again in a hurry, though - there are subjects I am much better at, and enjoy more. Still, it had to be done, and it is out of the way now, so that will do. I certainly "earned" my money today though!

I am now going to have something to eat, and in a while will go for my run, then will hit the housework......... with the aim of sitting down at a reasonable hour tonight in a semi-ordered space!!

Hope you are all having a good day x

Thanks beanie - it wasn't great, but it was ok - out of 11 on the course, 7 said it either "met" or "exceeded" expectations, and 4 have asked me to send further info to them, so it was ok. I never really wanted to teach it in the first place and so my own negativity probably stopped me from putting my all into it.

BUT, it is £60 that will come my way in due course, so I have to be quite happy with that!!
