Ooh blimey - that is an awful lot! Ah well, at least the money is there and you won't have to find any extra at the mo.

I feel the cold a lot too, so I know where you are coming from beanie. If I am tired (which, lets face it is quite often!) I feel the cold even more. So I have not cut down on my heating, but I have made more of an effort with the other things that I can cut back on - not leaving chargers plugged in, make sure all lights are off, having one of those things that turns the telly etc off when you put it on standby etc. It must be working, and I get to stay warm!!

I don't yet know whether to leave the surplus in there to cover the winter period, or to withdraw £100 of it, pay it to the egg loan, and to colour in another couple of squares

Withdraw £100 of it, pay it to the egg loan, and colour in another couple of squares!!!:D There's nothing as much fun legally as colouring in squares.

Benben, you should definitely be ok to switch as long as you didn't tie to any length of contract (which as far as I know doesn't normally happen anyway unless you specifically agree to it). We change suppliers every 3-4 months just to get the Quidco (or topcashback - their rates are generally better). As soon as one switch is completed, I do it all again as soon as a decent cashback deal comes up. Started it because of the lousy service I got from Eon during a switch to them, so switched straight back away again, and realised there was a bit of money to be made ;) .

Yes, I think I will ring up and get my £100 back - I can't be too far off with my monthly payments, so even if I get a bit of a deficit over the winter quarters, I can still catch up quite quickly in the springtime.

Hey Hypno, you've found another way to avoid housework! Excellent news. And colouring in squares too. Panda said you use those shiny gel ones? Is that still true? Pretty, pretty squares. Hope you're enjoying your *partly* relaxing evening.

shiny gel pens, flourescent pens, you name it and I have coloured a square in with it :D

And the housework isn't being avoided - it is just being done in "bursts" which has proved quite successful so far! The running is merely a delaying tactic!

Good to see you are still going strong hypno.:D I think we are in credit on our energy bills but it turns out we're massively in debit on our water - they want to triple our DD. I don't know whether to say no just take what you were plus the amount we owe - and we promise to reduce our usage... I know it was caused by me leaving the hose pipe on several times - sometime for days... bad I know...
