Evening all;hello:
Have only just had time to post, as have been cleaning and tidying all day:o I have an ongoing battle with DD who just bungs everything into my normal bin, then I spend hours sifting through it to avoid being fined:rolleyes:   It's up to £250 here if you don't recycle:eek:
Popped into town for a bit too with my friend and DD, and got a nice fancy black crocheted cardi for my birthday which is in oct, off my friend:D
Got a few bargains from Poundland too, I love that shop:j :j

I didn't make cakes, I forgot about the broken mixer and don't want to mix by hand
Mr troo has also cleaned the bathroom and hoovered upstairs. I think he must be ill.I am a coffee bean0 -

Don't seem to have stopped all day!
We picked DD(14) up from a sleepover at 10a.m. then had a look round a couple of showhome developments in York (just to see the design ideas.)
Got home about 12 and raced around making roast potatoes, parsnips, cabbage, leek and yorkshire pud wih shoulder of pork to go with it.
Realised I had a few home made rolls in the bread bin that seemed stale but did no want to throw them out so tried a trick I had read about years ago- dipped the rolls in water, put thm on a baking tray, covered with foil and baked from between 5 to 10 minutes.
They seem really soft now so lets hope it has worked.
Have just been helping DD with some homewrk as she is overtired and upset. I think she is beginning to realise why sleep is a good idea.
Looking forward to Xtra factor tonight - must look up when it is on so I do not miss it.
Hugs to everybody."This site is addictive!"

Hi :hello:
Welcome back D&DD, the apple braid still gets regular mentions
I went and did my washing, which is out on the line, ironing planned for later. Then I went to Netto, but only bought a few bits and pieces, I went to see if they had any of the long johns in stock, but couldn't see any
I carried on to Asda, I bought some of their £1.77 fleece throws and have sold 2 to a work colleague, so went for more.
I seemed to buy loads of stuff (no meat though) including a basic food processor (£13.97) that I thought would be ideal for crumble toppings and pastry etc. Anyway in total I spent just over £40 and got several bagloads of stuff...mainly Smartprice
I've had another try at flapjack in the Remoska and I've got a chicken roasting in there for tea.
My electric usage this week has averaged out at just over 10 units a day (72) and my gas at just under 1 M3 (cubic meter) a day (6.6) both these figures are a little down on last week and I feel like I've cooked more.
Big hugs as ever.

evening all,
Sunnyday, glad the houndies liked their hols, OH has just taken little dog out for a walk, she gets so hyper if she does not get out, we walked her for 8 miles yesterday and she was still as mad as a hatter last night, she has boundless energy, unlike me  .
I have just booked and paid for our week away in Oct half term we are going here, it looks beautiful, dd is taking a friend from school, and her mum kindly asked if I wanted some money for the holiday, I said no, but asked if she would give some money towards her food, do you think this is cheeky ? it will obviously cost us more to feed her for the week, and what would you say is a fair amount ?
Anyhoo going to get the washing in, its meant to rain later, then have a nice hot bath.
Hugs to all xx0 -
Was frozen at the carboot, wore some gloves but my fingers still froze - had to buy some hot doughnuts to warm my hands up with:D
Fabulous excuse!!!! I like it, I must remember that for another time....
Sunnyday - I put 3 Ikea flatpack wardrobes & 1 small chest of drawers together last SaturdayI find Ikea stuff quite easy to do & generally well-made (although there are exceptions). The rest of the week was spent "tidying my room" after that...!! Tomorrow my little brother is coming to help put a 6x7' metal shed together - even though there isn't a base ready yet. But it can temporarily stand on my patio.
Welcome back D&DD - you've obviously missed our [strike]bad[/strike] good influence!!!
Candygirl - HOW MUCH?!?!?!? Crikey, that's a bit OTT for the recycling isn't it??
Anniestar, you brave brave soul.......
Had HM toad-in-the-hole & HM mash for supper just now, will have to do the beef casserole in the SC in the week. Now time to start my letters for the office while half-watching Hairspray, the school musical.
Edit: wow Redruby, that barn looks beautiful. I was thinking of booking something for next summer for me & my DD's for a week, although I was thinking Norfolk/Suffolk for a change. Will depend on the price (and if they want to, lol!). I don't think it's too cheeky asking for food money - are you planning on eating out a lot,or cooking there? Perhaps £20 or £30? Maybe a bit more if you're going to eat out a lot.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Evening everyone
Hopefully I've got another little job coming through - only a few quid, but all helps.:T
Been to work today, but that's over until tomorrow.
Having roast chicken for dinner, which will turn into a couple more dinners this week. Pudding is HM apple crumble, which I made last night whilst jumping round the kitchen singing to the soundtrack from Chicago:D
Two days of work this week, then five days off:j I know I've just had a week in Spain, but it seems a lifetime ago. Got all my holiday booked for the rest of the year, and I won't be able to have any time off after Christmas until May at the earliest probably as my colleague's having a baby.
Done my daily clicks, just got prizee to do and check the survey account to see I've got any other pennies to earn.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Good afternoon all
I hope these arent too big for the board,,We have grown these gourds for the christmas tree

http://www.gardenersnet.com/vegetable/gourdsdry.htm.. this shows me how to dry them
Once they are dry, you can make a wide range of crafts. They can be painted, shellaced, or left unfinished. As previously mentioned, Long gourds are used most frequently for crafts. Birdhouse gourds are also very common. You can make just about anything, including vases, flower pots, bowls, dishes, ladles. Simply use your imagination, or visit a craft show where a gourd crafter is showing his or her crafts.mortgage free as of 06/02/2008#
