Just nipped back cos I'd remembered I was going to say to Redruby that I have a fur (fake) throw I got from Next a few years ago & I decided to wash in the machine. Did it on a cool temperature & a "delicates" programme & it was fine
But I see yours is already going...lol!!
I've been continuing with the clearout/declutter of my bedroom - as a DD & friend were still asleep all over the lounge this morning I couldn't do much downstairs anyway, so I've already gone through a couple of carrier bags of stuff I'd tucked away in a corner as "to be sorted through". Mainly old paperwork/receipts (how many supermarket ones did I have?!?!??! ) to be burned. It is pretty much done now - once I can get a lovely white dressing table, bedside cabinets & small chest of drawers, that will be it
Blairweech, I much prefer the first bed too - the Pallio? Very pretty - which colour will you get it in?
Sistercas, sounds like a real bargain place to shop, could do with one of them down here.
Dogrose, think you will have a more moneysaving day then with OH at work...!!Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning everybody,
Rained during the night here...on some of the things I put outside to let the tiler have free run at the kitchen and hall, will have a look later on as not in the humour at present...tiler is doing a very good job, but hasn't arrived yet this morning and I was hoping that he would be finished to-day...whole place is even more messy than usual and at this stage I would like to get it all ship shape as if Ulick comes home in the middle of a mess he will go mad...not what he needs at present.
Went to bed very early last night and slept well....for about 10 hours...had a phone call from Ulicks sister in law in US...his brother died five years ago at almost the same age as Ulick is now, she now lives alone and was all teary so we had a nice little weep together, I am glad she made contact as she is DD4's godmother...she is Irish by birth but has been in US for more than 50 years and doesn't really come here any more as all her family are over there.
I think that my brother is cooking dinner to-night which will be nice...we ate in DS3's last night, he has now gone fishing with some mates, hope to get some fresh fish for the freezer, would love some herring as its practically impossible to buy nowadays here and I love herring...but will be glad to see anything.
Will go see Ulick about 2, nothing happening with him to-day, they are starting a series of tests to-morrow as they are unable to do MRI, so looks as if he will be there for a while.
Have a good day all, hugs to those in need or want and congratulations to those who are celebrating

Hi all - just catching up. Have prepped for dinner; I'm on freezer challenge so we are having stew with dumplings. I've got dough rising for bread and the washing is on the line in this gorgeous sunny weather.
I'm listening to tributes to Paul Newman on the radio - I know he was 83 but what a fantastic actor and such a handsome man even as he got older. He raised over 200 million dollars for charity so he was a good man, too.
I loved Strictly last night but can't for the life of me decide on a favourite. DH is torn between Ola and Cheryl Lunghi but that's pure lust and not anything to do with the dancing!
DS1 and family will be round this afternoon; they have all had colds - picked up from school, no doubt - but are all better now, thank goodness.
As for the beds, Blairweech, I don't know which I'd choose; they're both gorgeous.
Happy belated birthday to Learning to Save and Happy Birthday to Master Essex!
I've just phoned my Mum on her 78th birthday and told her I shall be visiting two weeks today and staying for a few days; she's really looking forward to it and is making all sorts of plans. DH will have to cope on his own but I shall leave him some meals in the freezer and will stock him up with HM bread and cakes so I'm sure he'll survive.
Anyway, off to sort out my office - having to install the new printer, which wouldn't fit where the old one was, has left it in a bit of a mess.
See you all later.

Have ordered my upvc cladding for the bathroom, have gone for a gorgeous silver grey with chrome corner strips and the guy is delivering it this afternoon, very good service, Everything all in for £230 so we are happy with that.
While i am waiting for him i intend giving my kitchen unit doors a make over, and i have tons of stuff to list on ebay tonight.
Don't know whether to do roast chicken dinner tonight or something with pasta, will see how i feel later on, must get another coffee now to warm me up as it is pretty chilly here today, have a good day, BSB xx0 -

The DW has just finished as well.
Having trouble fancying anything to eat with this pg. So dh made me poached eggs on toast. There were 3 to use in the box so he did me all 3:eek: I ate it all thoughwell I'm eating for 2
Must go to the shop for milk & bits.

Morning all
Sunny here again today, so I've stripped the beds & now the line is full of washing.
I treated myself to the Mail on Sunday as I wanted the Take 10 tenors cd, I'm importing it to Itunes now.
I need to spend more time looking into my employment rights, but I keep getting distracted, I must make a Dr's appointment too, just so I have a medical record of my problems.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good afternoon!
I posted on the grocery challenge last night a comment about how the o/s board has been a good influence on me, and its just struck me how some things are now a habit.:j
Just looking at the laundary flapping in the breeze, bread in the panny, cleaning with the stardrops/vinegar mix and meal planning before I pop out to Mr Ts later I realised that most of my routines are just normal now (well not the panny only got that yesterday:D ) but there are lots of things I do that have come from this board!
Hoping to have a baby some time (long story) and trying to live on one income in prep for that (and put a little bit aside to help).
I love this site!
Thanks for all the shared wisdom!:T
Winky xRight now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before0 -

LOL its good to finally make it back Lesley I've missed you all
What with sorting out DS3's school and DS2's op I'm surprised I made it through the summer even in one piece!
I just never even had time to get near a pc..withdrawals or what! Our budget has also gone a bit haywire and being so close to being debtfree I have to be really strict now up until Xmas to get us back on track (been a naughty DD)
