Good Morning All
Diva - didnt see Strictly after all - have sky+'d it - there was a float at the carnival that just had a great big screen with stricly on it so only saw 5 mins worth.
Chocolateorange - good for you, couldnt imagine not driving
Learning to Save - sorry missed your birthday yesterday - hope you had a great day.
Late posting from me as its DS' 10th birthday today so have been watching him open pressies and we had croissants for breakfast. He is very happy with his presents.
Off to an away football match then straight from there to Wagamama's at Lakeside as that is where he really wants to go. So no cooking for me today.
Did a load of ironing yesterday but there will be some tonight - will try and get it done so start of the week up straight.
Anyway off for a quick surf while I finish my copy.
Have a good one.
x
Tired-mum - did enjoy the carnival it was very very busy and I had sore feet by the time it finished but it was good and I admire the people who put so much effort in.0 -
Morning all,
Diva, I'm glad he had a nice birthday & that you were soooo considerate waking him up nicely!!!!I get granary flour in MrT's - the Hovis own one. You will be so sick of chocolate cake by the end of the day too, lol!!!!
ChocOrange - good news on the MOT & well done you on getting out & about. That "getting your life back" feeling is a great one. Keep it up!
Jannyannie & WMF, have you thought about creating padded triple-insulated [strike]cell[/strike] room for your OH's - so you can't hear them, lol!! I think I would be starting to have lots of murderous thoughts if it was affecting my sleep....
Aussie, the cake name sounds lovely - what a shame it didn't live up to it
N9eav, you have reminded me I have a bag of frozen cubed beef in the freezer & a jar of beef in ale sauce that needs using up. Think I may chuck them in the SC today, make some dumplings later to go with it too.
Kathy, what a performance!!!!!!!! That's the only problem with places like PCWorld - the minute something goes wrong it becomes a nightmare. But then that seems to be the case with anything nowdays... glad you got it sorted in the end.
Welcome home Sunnyday!! Glad you had a good time
Troo, I have thrown the quilt back & got both bedroom windows open..... :rotfl:
As it looks lovely out again I must see what other washing I can rustle up to hang out - I do love the smell of fresh outdoor-dried laundryI was hoping to have a go at making some of those "wrap-mats" for sandwiches, seen on another thread, must go & rummage in the craft cabin & see what I can use to make them. Also letters to type for the office later.
(((((hugs)))))) to all those needing them - have a good day everyone.
Belated birthday wishes to LearningToSave from me too - and also Happy Birthday to Master Essex-Boy - hope he has a great one!!!!Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning folks,
Had a fantastic day yesterday - the llamas and alpacas are just sooo cute. And I learnt lots of interesting stuff about them as well...it all just reminds me bout my dreams of being a smallholder etc - which are so hard to remember when I'm at work!
Also managed to sand my kitchen cabinet down yesterday, so that can start being painted soon. It is going to look great when its finishedMy friend rooted thru his garage and found the perfect shade of paint - which was good, because I could not find it in the shops and was going to have it mixed.
And in other good news - I have been dithering over whether to pay for my car insurance now or spread it out over the year (at 0% APR of course :money: ) and use the remainder of my savings to buy myself a bed/mattress. Well, I have just done some sums and I can buy both now!!!! Hmm...now which bed...I am torn between this one and this one
Anyway, plans for today - sausage and bean casserole, broccoli and stilton soup, another load of wasing and catch up with the ironing. I also want to sort out some carboot stuff - I will put it on Freecycle though, as I prefer going to carboots rather than doing them
Hope you all have a great day :berr:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Morning.
Love the beds Blairweech, are any the suppliers on any of the cashback sites?
Thanks for the savoury recipe Mioliere, sounds yummy
Aussie, I hope OH brings DGS back from the dump
No plans for today, although I do need some bits of shopping, so I might nip to the Co-Op and call at the launderette to wash Miss Twit's uniform and games kit, then I can get it out on the line in the sun.
My mum and dad are on holiday in Spain and they are getting cloud and rain, I hope it's better for Donny-Gal.
Oh well, off to check on the poached eggs, I got some poaching pods from Lakeland, they are fun to play with.
Love and hugs to all :grouphug:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
jannyannie/wmf i can sympathise on the snoring front as i spend 3-4 nights on the sofa to get away from the snoring ( i made him sleep on the sofa last night- didnt even give him chance to come to bed:D )
blairweech we have an alpaca/ llama farm near where we live. the kids love to go down and look, they have a shop which sells clothes made from alpaca wool-- nice but expensive so i only look
well have aready tackled the mountain of ironing WM on though more to do later
pork for lunch and all the trimmings
went to a food discount shop ( they sell all the supermarket stuff at half price or less but it may packaged wrongly or sell by dates are close)
spent £60:eek: but hopefully have got everything for next month except topping upon fresh stuff
DD1 has gone to her gym club DD2 still in bed but will be swimming later

Blairweech i like the first bed more0 -
Morning all,
Blairweech, I like the first bed more, its much prettier.
learning to save, happy belated birthday xx
Happy birthday to Essex lad :j
Its another bright and beautiful day here, I have my big fur throw in the wm, ( the one that DD had stolen  ), think I will get our bed stripped today and washed, might as well make the most of the lovely weather, squiggly I love the smell of outdoor dried washing too
Don't think we will be doing too much today, the main road through the next town is shut for four weekends, and all the traffic is being diverted through ours, its a total nightmare out there, we got stuck in it for ages yesterday, might walk up the the local shop, and get the dog out for a walk, and think that might be it.
I need to spend some time in the garden, my sprouts are going mad :T , no sign of any actual sprouts yet  , but I am sure they will come.
Having pork chops, roasties, and veg from my garden, spinach, french beans, and carrots :T
Diva, thanks for the tip, is QVC on the internet ? xx
Sunnyday, nice to see you back, did the doggies enjoy themselves ?
Need more tea,
Have good days all xx0 -
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY LEARNING TO SAVE:beer:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MASTER ESSEX:bdaycake:0 -
kind of at a loss of what to do today. had planned to drag Mr Dogrose round some car showrooms and some furniture shops, but he got the chance of an extra shift and with the lure of sunday rates he's gone in to work. Can't complain really because money will be great.
having steak pie for tea, cooking meat in slow cooker first then doing pastry bit later. nice bright day at moment so first load is on the line and next load will be joining it soon. may do some gardening later.x x x0 -
Morning all
DH taken baby for walk up to shop for a paper, WM on while there's still some dry weather, supposed to be going downhill tomorrow. Got tons of ironing to do, cross stitching for magazine & make a few more Christmas cards.
DH & I went to a wedding do last night, old friend of his we haven't seen for ages. DS babysat for us & we didn't get in 'til after midnight! Good do, old friends reacquainted, lots of ale drunk(!) - not me cos I had to drive home! Still, I've got wine in the fridge left from M&S £10 tea we had yesterday.
Keep missing reading/posting on here, so not up to speed with birthdays/other celebrations or commiserations needed - sorry peeps! Free kisses for all!
Need to bake this week, got millions of eggs from milkman that need using up!
DH just back so better wash up! :rotfl:
