  • You can go to work for me and I'll stay in bed?

I know it is hard but remember it is your job that is redundant not you as a person, you are a clever, date going out on person, who can sell things on amazon (ok clutching at straws as I don't know you) but just because you're job is gone doesn't make you a bad person ok, and you will show them and go do something much cooler anyway so in 6 months to a years time you'll look back with your cool boyfriend and cool job and think why was I even worried about them.

What about it is making you sad though is it missing the actual work you would be doing? or the people you do it with? or just that they are stupid for not seeing how wonderful you are? as if it is the work you can find another job, if it is the people this kinda thing means you end up staying in touch with work people a lot more than if you just left a place I've found, and if they are just to stupid then it isn't you remember it is the job they don't want not you, and i'm sure if they could pay you to come in and talk to them all day they would but someone would probably end up moaning about it. Maybe look at that volunteering website and see if there is anything you could do there just to give you something to do to feel useful at least as lots of people would be desperate for you to help and will value your help. That or just want jerry springer a lot one or the other ;)

  • What about looking up your local papers online and checking out their job pages?

I got my job through Brook Street which is an agency.

If you ever need to get away you are always welcome at mine! I should be at my old place till Wednesday (fingers crossed) and then get a week and a bit off (fingers crossed)

If your place have done anything wrong then I hope you go for the jugular!

  • I know and the people are great most of the time. I guess it's the routine that I am missing rather than the company who don't want me. I know I am capable of getting another job and that there is someone out there who will employment.

I just feel a little lost I think.

But it will all be ok.

  • Well I need some sleep, I have some pills from the doctor to help with that as I cant seem to sleep at the moment.

I hope you get some sleep and have a productive day tomorrow.

Just think it could be worse, you could be the winner of the "I want to work for Diddy" program. I dont think I could cope with working for him.

    Sweet dreams!

    Morning guys.

Well it's monday I am just getting ready to go out. So here is my to do list:

[STRIKE]- Find number and make a solicitor's appointment[/STRIKE]
    - Go to the bank. (I've looked over the loan protection documents and I am covered for 12 months once I have been unemployed for 15 days) but I have a few questions I want to ask.
    - Go to the recruitment agencies
    - Go to the job centre
    - Not spend any more money than I need for car parking!!!!

I think I am coming down with a cold and feel carp today which is just going to add to the enjoyment. Hopefully I will be back by early afternoon. And I will log on and let you know how I got on!

Ok Solicitors appointment is at 4pm on weds. I'm not the first from my company and the guy told me not the let them pressure me into signing anything as they seem to want this all done very quickly.... now I am a little concerned.

But I have call my ex employers and let the girl in HR know when my appointment is and she was ok with that.

right I am off into town.

  • Hi Lucy,

Nice to see you back, albeit in these circumstances. You're the same age and name as me so I always take an interest (:o silly eh?). You must feel like you're stood on a precipice looking out into the future and don't have a clue what's coming but try to think of that as a positive thing. I loved what Bobbie said:

    :T

I was in a similar position at the start of last year after having jacked in a naff job to go and work abroad on a voluntary basis for a few months. It was the new year, I had about £2000 worth of debt, no job, living back at home, no boyfriend etc, etc... But I got stuck in, got a temp job which turned permanent (and is infinitely better than anything I've done before), bought a car, passed my driving test, paid off my debt, them trawled the dating sites and found my lovely boyfriend who I've been with almost a year. I know my situation was voluntary so not exactly like yours, but when I look back to summer 2006... I could so easily still be there.

You're on the brink of change and although it's scary at the min it'll all be for the best I'm sure. And keep posting here - it's a good outlet for sharing the lows and the highs. Good luck with the agencies and don't let them fob you off with something rubbish just to get it off their books!!

    Thanks

Well I am back from town.

My friend at the temping agency is going to sort something out for me :D and her colleague who deals with perminate placements if going to ge stuck in to. So hopefully that will help.

Not such good news from the bank. I can claim on my loan and cc insurance once I have been unemployed for 15 days.... but if I temp then they wont help me  So I am going to try and get some temping work and see how I get on with that, if I can keep on top of everything then find, if not I will have to stop temping.

But hopefully a job will have come along in the meantime.

But I am finding it all a little hard today and keep wanting to cry :o
