I have been threatened in my job, and called a lovely array of different names. I dont let it affect me because I know its part of the job, you shouldnt have to expect it when you visit your bank.
so you feel its part of my job to be spoken like that? screamed from 30ft?0 -
Custardy is a human being. Doesn't s/he deserve to be treated with respect?!0

If, as many of you say, the problem is her feelings about her weight, then reading some of your nasty comments are going to make her feel 100% worse.
God another poster who is so determined to be seen to be as 'caring' that they overlook the obvious.
The OP is either an AE or has a serious mental problem and should not be posting on an Internet forum. The OP's reaction was ridiculous in the extreme. I suspect a troll and so would suggest you save your caring, sharing posts for a genuine poster.
Looking foward to your response to custardy's question re his/her abusive, foul mouthed customer because your earlier answer indicates that custardy should positively enjoy such abuse because s/he is a service provider! What does AE mean? Sorry, I'm not up to speed with your abbreviations. I presume it's not complimentary though.

I got £60 out of HSBC for nothing...they simply didn't send out a cheque book and debit card when I set an account up.
Add £20 from Quidco to that too.
If this was genuine....which it probably isn't......you will need help when something really serious happens! You'll probably top yourself.
Thanks for the entertainment....it's all MSE.com is good for now.0 -
" then he smiled at me in this weird smirky way and said "I'm sorry"...it was totally insincere"
as someone else said i'd guess he probably had a 'mouth before brain' moment and was having an 'OMG did i really say that?!' conversation with himself. We've all done it.
If I was 'compensated' for all the rude, arrogant, hurtful things customers said to me while I worked for HSBC I'd be a very rich person :rotfl:0 -

His comment was out of line, yes. But how often have you said something without thinking and regretted it after? I've worked in customer facing jobs pretty much my entire working life and have done more than once, its easily done sadly.
As for the above - size 14 is not fat, its pretty average for UK women, Im also a size 14 and when I was in my teens was also a size 8 - 10 but am very well aware that my increase in size is down to the discovery of alcohol, pub grub and a lack of interest in exersize. All of which are choices I made and can reverse if I feel like it.
Can I now claim compensation because your comment was insulting to me? :rolleyes:It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
