Doesn't seem to be an easy way to paste in disabled programs. I've tried Print Screen from the list in RegCure, but doesn't work, and I can't copy and paste from there either. Maybe there's a list somewhere else?

On another track, any idea what I can do to save my wirless setttings so that it comes on when I swicth on, rather than having to connect each time (and sometimes key in WEP code)? When I run the Talktalk program, it rarely seems to work on "reset network address" but more often at the "restart wireless adaptor" or "restore wireless settings" stage.

Don't know what happened there

What I meant was that the talktalk connection programme doesn't usually work at the "reset network address" stage, but works more often (but not always!) at subsequent "restart wireless adaptor" or "restore wireless settings" stages.
• Can i pick your brains as well!
My PC is about 3 ish years old, once turned on seems to take a while to boot up & when you open internet just to get the yahoo home page takes a while, it seems slow to turn pages in these forums & on the net for pages.
Ive followed some the instructions already posted. We recently bought new Hard drive as it was so full with pics & itunes so we have 500GB on that.

When go to Defrag there is 52% free space is this a lot or not?
Ive also tried to disable some of the start up options as in previous post, this is what i have ticked now (i have disabled some) do i need these?

qttask
avgtray
Googletoolbarnotifier
ctfmon

Thank you! im trying to get to grips with it all!!

Dont switch any of them off
50% is fine for RUNNING purposes, but doesnt sound right if youve just installed it!
Goto MYCOMPUTER, right click C drive and PROPERTIES. What size does IS the drive and how much is LEFT?

Run Ccleaner to clean up temp files etc

What speed processor do you have? How much ram?
What protection do you have (firewall, anti virus etc?)

Can't find a way to save the screenshot as a file that I can upload to a photo site, unfortunately. So far I've only managed to paste it into a Word doc.

And then I keep losing the Internet connection..... grrrrrr! This time connnected OK on turning on, but then lost the connection....
• This could be down to the connection being faulty, get in touch we the provider if it persists

Its more than likely due to the 'start up' files youve stopped

sunshine - you do not need qttask, ctfmon or the google toolbar to start up when you boot up your computer.

qttask is for apple's quicktime player, I doubt if you have an application that fires up quicktime when you boot up

ctfmon is for some advanced options within microsoft office, see here for details: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282599 again, not needed at startup.

google toolbar tool - I'm not a fan of extra toolbars, and you don't really need this running if you don't have a IE window open, so why use up system resources running it until you open IE ??

Okay, it may not save you much on startup by disabling them, but as tesco say, every little helps :D
......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D
