Found it, but when I click on Update Driver, I don't seem to get the option to look on the Internet, only on the system. The only one with a yellow exclam mark is C-Media AC97 Audio Device.

    Do you have sound?

Yes (usually, anyway). There's the odd time I wonder if it's working quite right. What do you reckon on installing the diver for my NVidia card from he Nvidia website?

Download and install Driver Genius Professional 2008 and use it to back up and update your Drivers.

Installation instructions in your PM inbox.

I tried that with the NVidia GEForce , but it says it is working OK. And as before, when I click on update driver, it just searches on the PC and then tells me I have already have the best one installed. Did I do something wrong? Should I try to download he latest version of this from the net?

How do I do the system restore? Presumably I need things like Windows serial numbers (don't have any!)?

Last I heard you said it had a yellow mark and you declined to touch it

  • Will try this thanks

I'll do the installs this evening. Thanks. So you wouldn't install the latest driver from the website (I downloaded it already and it's sitting on my desktop)?

The NVidia... maybe it did have a yellow mark before, but it doesn't any more!

Firstly, back up your drivers. Then you can uninstall the old driver and install the new one. It there is a problem, you will still have the old driver at hand to reinstall.

How do I back up the old drivers? And would you do this before or after the installs?
