  • Hi Victory, wondered where you had been. (Sorry other peeps, another long post - but hey ho)

Don't beat yourself up too much on the binging - there's quite a few of us with the same problem. The only sure way that I can avoid binging on chocolates is not to have them in the house. I've recently seen off OH's birthday chocolates that I bought for him - I thought I would be able to resist - but unfortunately as soon as he said 'help yourself' - I did and didn't stop until they were gone :o .

OH and the little monkeys keep moaning that there is nothing in the house to eat (what they mean is sweets, cakes, chocolates, puddings), I keep saying that it's been too busy at work and I haven't had time - not strictly true, I can be strong during the day but at weekends and evenings I lose all willpower.

It doesn't help at work when colleagues say 'oh go on, have another - you can afford to' - ha!! if only they knew!!

Don't know if you saw Vix's and my post regarding jobs in the area and where to look - if you want to pm me feel free - just in case I hear of something, although I am more middle and west of the county, Vix is more middle and east.

I know you're not alone with regards returning to work. I've never stopped, even after having the little monkeys, but I used to chat to other 'returning' mums in the playground from time to time - and just being out of the work place for a period of time can knock your confidence - I know that I was a little bit shaky after each of the 9 mths of maternity leave that I did take.

Keep fighting though, sounds like you are winning your battles.

Victory - just wanted to give you some virtual hugs.... You've said before that it's been a constant battle with you and food. some days you win, some you lose.

I can see from your post that you've managed to pull back some of the weight you'd gained. Can you not see what is positive in that? I'm sure the old you would have just shrugged off the gain and done nothing about it. The fact that you've four lbs off already shows that your attitude to binging has changed. Well done!

Also, I can see from your post that your binge fest was brought about by several factors -boredom, the stress of the move, worry about work etc. This is all too much for you to be thinking of at once. Take things one at a time. And remember to be kind to yourself.

Good luck with the battle - we're all behind you and know where you're coming from.

Hey victory, as someone who looks DAILY for jobs, i can safely say there is naff all out there!! Unless you want to be a carer! Its hard and youre probably feeling it double because youre so bored. I've put on weight since ive finished going to college and sitting on this thing most days - its only because i live at mums still and there is nothing i like here to eat that i dont!Everything sorts itself out in the end, and a job will crop up and everything will click into place.

I've had a not great weekend. My hormones have been all over and ive done some crying and i still feel horrible. Not eaten much cos ive felt sick most of the weekend and then i came on this morning so only a week to go and then i get a break!

Maybe the weather is to blame!!

Im getting my hair cut tomorrow and my nails done. Its our 3 year anniversary tomorrow so im looking forward to it. Now all im waiting for is to move into our flat, im getting tired of waiting!!!!!!

see ya when i see ya folks.

  • Sorry I haven't been around for a few days, though I have checked the forum everyday. I'm focussing a lot on financial planning at the mo and finding it hard to multitask:o .
Victory -sending hugs. I can only echo what everyone else has said. You have a lot of very real difficult situations on your plate at the mo and you've done really well to loose some of the gain this week and come on here and talk about it.
Very very tired and must go to bed. Out all tomorrow but will check in again on Tuesday.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • thinking of you victory. i know i'll never be completely comfortable with food - i'll never be one of those people who can mange their weight by simply eating what they need, rather than what they want. I'm greedy, and that willnever go away. So don't feel alone, we do understand you, and you are well on track to getting this back under control. I blew it yesterday with the packet of fingers, but I have to get back on track today - your post has helped me. Forgot to metion, I had to have a medical this week for the insurance company. The doctor weighed me and then deducted 5kg for my clothes! I liked that doctor . . . . .

Thanks everyone:D ffm I have been around every day just not posting as did not feel had anything to contribute and weight wise never said the verdicts because did not want to have it up in lights:rolleyes: My kids moan like mad not having anything in the house that is why they were so happy when it all came in and I kept saying yes to them:D I am sure they are really looking forward to halloween, bonfire night, xmas and anything else that they feel sweets, crisps, biscuits will be about:D
I have looked for jobs but they all seem to be above what I can do and no to being a carer:rolleyes: have even thought of ringing one of those leaflets that come through the door where it says nothing about the job just ring this number and you could be earning xxxx:rolleyes:
fittoburst thanks for the PM much appreciated and have replied:D
dellybelly getting the weight back down and off and regaining control is of course a positive but for it to happen again is soul destroying and very rollercoastering, awful way to run a life:rolleyes:
    retiredlady, vix, bb,kp;)

I just hate the lies to myself, trying to convince myself that this and that is normal, I know I can get out of it but fall back down into it again and it sends me batty:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks a lot because I was really nervous when I wrote it all and it has been well recieved no one thinks I am an out of control binge eating fat cow as I do myself:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Will look for a job today again, so need one to fill life with more than food;)

Been so lucky with jobs before, my friend at the school gate got me an interview iwth her boss who liked me and immediately hired me to work in a video store, worked there for 2 years, another time I happened to be passing a building site and they needed someone there and so got the job there and then, never had the suited and booted, nervous palms, wait your turn for an interview happen just been mightly lucky and sure appreciate that now I am not!! Put the word out though even at the docs surgery was telling someone that I need a job, the more people know the more chances one will just fall into my lap as they have done before ha ha!!
