Just stumbled across this!
I'm definitely in need of losing more than a little bit of weight.
I had lost quite a bit after moving to uni seeing as I was no longer being kept well fed by my mam and nana!! but after finding my new boyfriend ive become complacent and because he's such a skinny weed find it easy to eat just as much as he does! the only difference being it goes into his hollow legs but straight to my belly!!trying to become a moneysaving student0 -
Efrieze, I know several people who have skiied in Bulgaria and swear by it as it's cheaper than other resorts. Haven't been myself though...
Welcome Mellymeep! Tell us a little more about what you'd like to achieve and how you'd like to do it; lots of lovely support on here. The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Well I was thinking of going back onto the weight-watchers route.
A few years ago I lost nearly 3 stone on it, although I was paying under 18's prices! Don't think I could afford to go to the actual meetings now.. but i've still got all the details and would find it easy to go back into point counting.
I liked the fact that no food was banned as long as I accounted points for it.. and that would probably be the best option for my current lifestyle as a poor/lazy student! Takeaways are far too easy to get round here, and I overindulge in them far too much. I'm not going to focus on weight too much.. i'd just like to ideally lose enough inches to become a size 14 and have a healthy BMI, that way I can share clothes with my sister hah! Currently a size 18.. although i'm starting to teeter back up to a 20 which im not happy about!
I'm bringing my bike up to Leeds so I can cycle to university and into town, and I've also joined a local leisure center so I can get back into swimming, I really enjoyed it when I was a kid and went to 3 different swimming classes!trying to become a moneysaving student0 -
I can't help with Bulgaria skiing I'm afraid Efrieze, never been. For beginners I would say look for somewhere with lots of greens and blues, including at least one easy run which takes you right back to the bottom! Try to avoid resorts where you have to take a lot of bus transfers, these can be really busy at peak times with everyone and all their ski gear. The closer to the ski lift your accommodation is, the better (as walking in your ski boots carrying skis is a pain too). Ski in/ski out is ideal but if you're going self catering this could make grocery trips a bit tricky, depending how far up the mountain from the shops you are
Also accommodation can range from very quiet to very rowdy!
You'd probably need more than a couple of days to get the most from the trip, otherwise you'll be leaving just as you're starting to progress to the actual skiingI'd say 5 full skiing days minimum (2 days in ski school, 2 days on the slopes and 1 extra in case you lose a day to a blizzard or piste closure).
I know others on here ski too, FFM is one, so hopefully others will chime in with their thoughts for you too. Oh, and I'm already jealous... don't think I'll get to the slopes this winter *sob*

Hi guys. I was on this board looking for clothes shopping ideas in London when I spotted this thread. Maybe some of you could point me in the right direction? I'm a size 22/24 and don't know where to start looking- london is sooo big!
Ps might join the thread when I get home after my trip if that's ok? Will try to make healthy choices for now. Difficult though when there's so many nice places to eat!

Hi Efrieze, it's been years since I've skied (and not very well either). I've only skied in Austria and Italy, so can't offer advice on Bulgaria.
Coincidentally I did get some skiing brochures a couple of weeks ago and like you ended up with Bulgaria as the only possibility due to the cost.
Norway looked fab but I costed it at £4,600. Borovets in Bulgaria came out at £2,900. Looks cheap compared to Norway - but is still loads of money.
That also doesn't include for clothes, although did include all the passes, ski school etc. OH would need new clothes, so would little monkeys - at least I can now get back into my size 10 Lilac C&A ski suit (it's only about 16 yrs old).
Sadly, I think it will just be a dream for this year - but dreams are nice to have. Hope you get your dream.
How about the 'meet' is in Bulgaria :rotfl: . We could also do our Secret Santa there - how fab would that be?
