sorry to hear about your husband babykat. I hope the op goes well and you can relax over xmas, mentally and psychologically if not physically.
I'm at work at the mo so naughtily popping in. I am the only one here and we shut down for xmas today. Dilemma - a rep from a bank has just dropped some Mr Kipling mincepies in as a thank you blah blah blah. So, do I
a)deliver them to my bosses home,(who's jewish so doesn't do xmas anyway:D )
b) eat the evidence now
c) take them home and implicate OH in my crime:D
Victory - I love the way you talk about your kids. The cute age of yourLO really comes across, and how much you love them both.
Edit:lesley - can't think what rhymes with sugar until it occured to me that you are from oop north. We don't say !!!! like that down here:DI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
BB: definatly option C!! Sorry to hear about your pain bb and the tablets. My father has parkinsons and one drug he was taking made him hungry constantly, it was the final straw for my mother who caught him knicking grapes in sainsburys. He's now taking 12 tablets less a day and is not so hungry, just dunno if he can move as well. All peaks and troffs with tablets isnt it. In regards to housework im sure its a routine you need to get into, i find we can stay clean for ages, next minute a bombs gone off!
Babykat: hope your husband gets better soon. Take care of yourself too.
I have some fantastic news, and for once its weight loss related!!! Last night i went out for the spoons curry night, wore a size 10 dress and needed to get last years black long coat cos my short one makes my dress pop out at the bottom. Anyway, put this coat on and it was huge!!!! could pull it away from me an literally wrap it around me with an overlap of a few inches!! I felt soo good last night, for the first time in a long time i genuinly felt happy with my body, even when my legs wobbled in my 60 denier tights! So im now feeling quite happy with my self, especially as its about a year since i joined here, so even though i havent lost any weight, my body has changed shape a bit. woo hoo!!
And with that i am off to do more dissertation.0 -
brighton belle eat them its xmas after all

However, I declare studentmidwife our sotw and a close 2nd is seren:T . So well done both of you. London - you are so close to reaching the 5lb challenge this month which is impressive at this time of year. SMW has smashed that one of course:j . I would like to personally thank those who have put on several lbs this month so I don't feel on my own:rotfl: .
BB
Yes and if I had had my glasses on and looked at my weight that I noted down on 10th - I would have realised that I actuallly lost 1.6 lbs this week - ah well one more week than a week of relaxing slightly. Can't bring myself to let go completely as enjoying new clothes too much and stomach has shrunk. Still plenty of opportunities for lots of walking off the excess. Xmas v relaxed as there are no young children (yet) and most of my family are working nights, so intend to postpone Xmas until the Sunday. Not unusual in our house so no sympathy required OH was PC for 30 years so quite used to Xmas Day being moved.A couple of years ago Xmas started off with me driving daughter to work for 8am shift, picking up OH and work colleague from LHR they had just arrived and their pick up did not turn up and drove them to the HO at Gatwick - M25 was fab both ways. Day finished with Hospital pick up at 8.15pm - least alcoholic xmas ever.0 -
Thanks vix - the mincepies are now at home with us:D .
Well done on the weight loss: it's great to here you enjoying and likig your body:T . I wonder if since moving into your own place you have just eaten a little differently -nothng drastic but a few small differnces have mad all the difference?
When's the deadline for the diss?
I can understand your dad and the grapes - recently the need to eat has almost felt compulsive, which is horrible. Even though I know it's the drugs I can't help myself. It's a side effect that seems to ebb and flow a bit so I am hoping it ebbs off asap.
London - we're not sentimental about xmas day either - I've spent several xmas days writing essays when they needed to be done, before our family circs enabled us to all meet up as we have done for the last 7 years. I do enjoy being togetherbut it could be any day of the year, so postponed wouldn't make any difference.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hi all
Typing this in the caravan on the drive...!The furniture has now gone with only one slight hiccup, when the removals men couldn't get the sofa through the front door so they had to take it out through the patio doors, which meant we had to move the caravan, which was blocked in by next doors car..!
I can't plan a whole weeks meal plan in a week!! What if you dont fancy it? or what if you wanna do something else. I plan two days worth of meals at any one time, then pick up something a fancy and usually make that into a meal after that, then mum will invite me over or we'll go out for dinner. Im just not a good house wife
Vix - we often change our minds and do something different, the plan isn't in stone it's just a guide and it helps to avoid buying things we might not eat. Apparently 30% of all food sold ends up in landfill sites, and that's mainly because people buy on a whim IMO. What you do is fine too, no-one expects you to be Mrs Beeton. (Or maybe Anthea Redfern would be a more current example!)
Lois - this is so exciting:j . You are really doing it - walking the walk, not just talkin the talk. Have you thought of keeping a blog while you are away, so you can keep who ever you want up to date?
BB - it is exciting (Vix's 'giddy' describes it well!) but we also keep looking at each other and asking 'are we mad'? I plan to keep a journal/blog, although I'm not sure where it will be yet - I'll let you all know.Lois~ Have a fantastic time.As my head has been all over the place I am not sure when you actually go but I think you are so right to follow your dream. As you well know none of us are ever sure what is round the corner so enjoy.
A blog sounds good BTW.
Thanks Beanie - we're off on the 29th December, which is a week on Monday! :eek:How very exciting lois! I take it you can't put your coats in the front locker because it's full of 'useful bits of wood'?
KPC - lol, the front locker has taken the place of the garden shed and the 'man drawer'! You'll know what I'm referring to if you saw the Royal Variety Performance, when a comedian was talking about all the odd things men like to keep just in case they come in useful, in the shed, or in a drawer. My DH gets very attached to the oddest things and I've really had to push him to part company with some of them.Breakfast - oats so simple with fruit and milk (heb, free, hea)
Lunch - homemade leek and potato soup (free) with 2 satsumas (free)
Dinner - Friday night fry lite up, with egg, bacon, quorn sausages, eggs and sw chips (free,hb)
snacks will be a couple of mince pies, a handful of chocolates from the now opened tin of roses, several glasses of wine tonight, a handful of salted peanuts, probably a bag of crisps and anything else that comes within my range - I am just in one of those moods
Marion - step away from the goodies! You started out with such good intentions, a great meal plan and then it all went downhill...sounds like the average day in our house too!:o
Babykat - sorry to hear about your husband, I hope he gets well very soon.
I'm off to Newcastle for the weekend to visit my daughter and her family, so I'll catch up with you all again on Monday.
Have a great weekend.

Hi everyone! Have you seen Martin's diet? I like the "numbers nerd" bit
Are you warm enough in the caravan Lois?
BabyKat I hope all goes well with hubby's op.
BB & Bails I hope you both feel better soon. Beanie - how are you doing?
I've been jogging today for an hour, it was lovely and refreshing! All's well here, two more days and then I'm having a rest from calorie counting (but I will still be eating reasonably sensibly). I've stuck to plan every week since coming back from hols on 25 August (17 weeks - 119 days - of being good :A), delighted with the results and I feel I can take a breather now!!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend x0 -
Morning
today I am leaving the kids and OH behind and going shopping to look for the dresses I want when they get reduced:D I need a red one for a wedding seen one still full price, will try it on etc leisurely as the men in my life go mental when you try on then go to another shop and come back to the first one:rotfl: I am not taking the shopping trolley to disuade me from buying anything as I can't carry things so it should be apart from the bus fare a free day out:rotfl:
Hoping to get weighed also.
I like being on this thread because even at this time of morning I have got competitive looking at your BMI missy straight away my brain was talking to itself, 19.9 I have never been 19.9 20 something yes but not 19.9 I will have to get it to that etc:rotfl: envy is a good thing there again I have never once even when I was little done as much exercise as you have:rotfl: not even when I get the wii fit next week will I0
