Congratulations Bails on getting to the halfway point :T :T :T Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us as well :) Everything sounds very positive which is great to hear! Good luck for the last half of your WL journey!

Marion & KPC started getting into the festive spirit a bit early I see ;) Nothing wrong with that :D Hope damage (if there is any) is minimal.

Lovely post Victory, I wholeheartedly join you in wishing anyone who is struggling, for whatever reason, a much better 2009.

The final results from my calorie-upping quest will follow shortly!

This week I've lost 0.5lb on 12097 calories (1728/day average). Exercise summary as follows:
    • Monday: Weights induction 1 hr 30 mins (but I've banked it as 1 hr because it wasn't all exercise, there was some instruction).
    • Tuesday: Outdoor cycling 18 mins
    • Wednesday: Beautiful forest jog 2 hrs 55 mins
    • Friday: Cross country jog 1 hr 04 mins
    • Sunday: Cross trainer 30 mins
    Total of 5 hours 47 mins :)

    ===

Here are the results of the calorie-upping since August:

    2 weeks between holiday & op = 3lb loss
    4 weeks @ 1200/day = 3.75lb loss
    4 weeks @ 1400/day = 0.5lb loss
    4 weeks @ 1600/day = 0.25lb loss
    4 weeks @ 1750/day = 1.0lb loss
    TOTAL LOSS in 18 weeks = 8.5lb

Weight loss works out at double the rate it was earlier in the year when I was on average 1300 cals/day for 7 months :rotfl: Since I'm now on up to 1750/day and still losing, this tallies with what I would call 'normal' levels so I think I've mended whatever was broken :)

I have decided to continue counting calories during the next two weeks after all, but I've set myself a very generous 2150/day for this week. This gives me 3000(!!!) on Christmas day and 2000-ish the rest of the days. Can't imagine I'll use this much - but I hope that will contain any festive season gain to around 2-3lb, which is what I can afford to gain without having to lose any afterwards ;) Exercise will continue as normal, of course!

Thanks everyone for bearing with me! I know it must be boring for non-calorie counters but it does help me to write down where I am with it :)

Best of luck this week to you all and have a wonderful Christmas! :D

All this love around makes me wanna sob! Or is it my hormones heh.

Beanie: I wouldnt swap matt for the world, but being single is fab. The thrill of the chase, the flirting. I mean with that scottish accent you could pull time and time again. I thought you werent single though? Although as a disadvantage to not being single, when your bloke gets ill its hell on earth!!! Christmas is a great time to pull out the old mistletoe.

BB: I was going to say something, but ive read so much ive forgotten. May have to edited this and re read!

Lois: mrs beeton ive heard of, never heard of the other lady. My parents are older than most of you lot though, so maybe thats the reason. Im forever hearing about how, "diving suits were like that when i was a little girl" i said to mum, but that was like 60 years ago, that is a long time ago. she said, "thanks i feel old now" :p

missy: i always bear with you :p One of the things i lack as a person is your approach to weight loss. Im sure if you were doing my dissertation it would be done now :p Weight loss isnt me, but i think changing how i ate is. Im finding now that ive moved out i can eat when i feel hungry and not because mum has made it. I was tied to a three meal a day scenario and im finding now that the more you eat and the more often you eat the more you want to eat. Now i do it all differently!

Right, laptop disaster, battery wont charge the laptop so i gotta go.

    Merry christmas everyone!

crisis over - mum sorted out. If i ruined another laptop i think i would have tossed my dissertation in the bin.

Victory: i second your post. As long as you have poeple round you youre laughing. Even if you dont theres people on here just a click away. I think its what makes this thread special.

Bails: congratulations!, i like youre self evaluating kind of posts that you do. I think its good sometimes to write down where youre at and where you have come from. Its times like that when you realise your achievements i always think.

I think im done. I'll be popping back on, im meant to be writing up what ive written on paper but i am way into the christmas mood. Might see what a ham sandwhich and a cup of tea does to me!

Missy - you are the most organised person I know and I find your posts fascinating - and I don't count calories! You are an inspiration to us all!

Well after a few days of general debauchary and loads of company I take no pleasure in reporting a guilty but well deserved 3 lb gain:eek::D

Mind you it was a bit of a shock and may have convinced me to cut back a bit and not go so mad around the chocolates and mince pies with cream (not to mention the gin and tonics:rolleyes:) That is what happens when I don't meal plan! So here is todays:

Breakfast - weigh in so didn't eat before class this morning however it was our buffet so had a variety of foods in class - most of it was not too naughty!
    Lunch - bacon and eggs
Dinner - boiled gammon with jacket potatoes and variety of roast vegetables with mince pies and cream for pudding (well you didn't expect me to be perfect did you:rotfl:)

I will report my menu's up to including Christmas eve but will have an off day on the 25th:rotfl:!!

    Merry Christmas to all
    Love
    Marion

    Hi all

Back from a lovely weekend with DD and her family. They've just had a loft extension and new roof, and they're having new carpet throughout so they are working like mad to try to get everything done before Christmas. OH and I took our GD out for the afternoon on Saturday and then yesterday got stuck in to some painting. Luckily we were planning to help so we took some old clothes with us. They've got a bit more painting to finish today, so the carpets can be fitted tomorrow. Then they've got the mammoth task of returning all the furniture to the rooms (it's all in the living room) - by Christmas day all they'll be fit for is lying on the sofa!

Not a very diet-friendly weekend - fish and chips, hotel breakfasts and too much wine!

Better go - we're having SW chips and Quorn sausages (at least that's ok!) and they're nearly ready.

    Catch you later.
