  • Thanks kpc.
Right, I have heard form my old sw consultant and she is ready to welcome me back with open arms:D . There is a meeting tonight but I think I need to get xmas over with and start next Tuesday 30th...
I think I need to lose about 8lbs which I know doesn't sound much but I maintain at the very upper end of my healthy weight range, becasue I am relistic with varois health probs that I am not going to comfortably maintain much below that but it does mean a persistant increase in weight over that tips me in to being too overweight. I also like being in a sie 14 trouser and know I'm only fitting the ones I am now thanks to them getting stretched over a year:D

    Hi all

Getting really wound up about Christmas now! Have been completely mad and invited the whole family round but have now got VERY annoyed about something my mum has done. My brother's fiancee's mother was taken into hospital after having a stroke. Her dad is unwell too but is at home. Now I feel very sorry for the man, and it's sad that he might be on his own at Christmas but my mum WITHOUT EVEN ASKING ME invited him to MY house for Christmas dinner. I have met my brother's fiancee twice and her daughter once - her dad I have never met in my life (nor has my mum!). I've contacted my brother to tell him that I had no idea she was going to invite him and that I would at least expect notice of what was happening but my brother lives at home with my parents and he was sitting next to my mum when I was speaking to him on the phone and I'm sure I am a Bad £itch now. If they are really worried about him being on his own surely his own family should stay with him! I'll have 15 to cater for already and have got the food in. The 'funny' thing is that I know mum wouldn't invite him to her's. Am I wrong?

    Enough moaning!

Bails thank you for that image (leg!) I won't be having brandy sauce with the pud now!

Vic This is a lovely bunch on here!

I.F. I really feel for you. The first step is the harderst and if you need support from health professionals it really should be better than what you have got so far. Don't give up - push for the counselling.

    Happy Christmas everyone!:xmastree:
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!
  • Tagz - I think you are being entirely reasonble - you should have been consulted, or his own daughter should be spending the day with him with you brother. Bizarre.
Thank you so much for the brandy butter image:eek: :rotfl: . Off to have my haircut now and hopefully feel more human.

    Hello all! :D

Try not to worry about any weight gains peeps... it's a special time of year, and in a couple of weeks things will be back to normal! A 'setback' of a week or two isn't going to hurt in the long run.

Bails - hope the explosion wasn't painful? Does it feel better now? (And you'll have to try harder than that to put me off my lunch :rotfl: )

Welcome Interglactic Floozie! I remember you posting here once or twice before :) Couldn't forget a username like that! I know there will be people here who can relate to your food challenges, you're definitely not alone. If you want to exercise, there must be a way and it doesn't have to be a gym. I'm on my own with my young son so I know what it's like. Let me know if you would like me to list some of the child-friendly exercise things I/we do :)

Tagz I really feel for you - I would hate that to happen to me... I hope things turn out OK and all your guests appreciate your hard work.

I've had a lovely day, my son has been to a 'do' and I got two unexpected free hours so no prizes for guessing that I went out running :D When I got back there had been a very surprise delivery of flowers and choccies for me! :D

Failing to get near my overly generous calorie allowance so far this week but I'll try to step things up! :rotfl:
  • Hiya

Well, I have cheered up a bit since I posted earlier on. I've had a really good day (foodwise) so far. I even took youngest son to McDonalds for lunch, and the old "oh start your diet tomorrow" thoughts popped into my head, but I just bought a sandwich rather than sandwich/milkshake/fries/pudding like I normally would. Okay, it will still 500+ calories, but I suppose it could have quite easily been 1000+

I've dusted off my www.weightlossresources.co.uk website so I am using that again. The McDonalds sandwich (Legend) was quite low in fat, I was surprised.

I've kept myself busy today being out and about delivering last minute cards and letters so had no time for food (hence the McDonalds on the way back). I'll just have to try and be really good this evening.

    Thanks for your replies/

  • Confession time - I binged last night and I binged again tonight :o

In 2 nights I have seen off a 200g box of Tesco Finest Belgian chocolates - they would have been very nice if I had taken the time to enjoy them - but I didn't - Why do I do that????

I know in the long term it won't matter and I will get back on track - but why??? what's it all about???

Anyway, enough of my moaning/whinging - in the scale of things it's all very puny.

    Welcome Intergalactic Floozie :hello:

(Ignore my 'rant' above - I've only temporarily lost the plot and will no doubt be back on track shortly).

I lost my 3 stone plus using Rosemary Conley books and magazines, I didn't attend classes and didn't do any exercise. It was only after finishing my weight loss that I started to exercise and then felt the need for support - which everyone here gives me - and they are brilliant at it.

Bails has given some great advice.

Good luck and stick around, we'll all try to help in our different ways.

hi interglatic floozie - a mix of one of my favourite songs and a lingerie range. Cant go wrong really.

I think one day you will get to a happy place with food. Sounds like one of your main problems is the times of you day, and the fact youre only spending 2 hours a day with your OH. Which (as a guess) is probably spent in front of the telly? I do sod all excersie, but one thing i would suggest is a hoover that is nigh on impossible to push (like mine) really tones the waist!!

But seriously, grab some help and stick around this thread. I've only lost 1lb on here but the girls are inspiring and a joy to know, even virtually. if anything ive realised i need to be happy with what i have instead of trying to create a body like beyonce!

Anyone else curious to know who gave missy the flowers and chocolates??? tell me its a man as hot as colin firth missy!

beanie: youre not completly on your own at christmas are you? its just lack of man were on about here?

This will probably be my last post before christmas so have a lovelly time, eat whatever, drink whatever and have a fab time! Just dont have flashes of bails leg exploding with pus everywhere! :p like i just have. Im sooo excited, but im really ill, im in the highs of beechams, paracetemol and cough syrup but my lungs feel the size of pears, well horrible. Meant to be going carolling tomorrow night but might just have to go for the fish and chips with my godparents afterwards. Anyway, enough about me!

Merrry Christmas everyone xxxxxxxxx hugs and kisses xxxxxxxxxxxxx
