had my black bean soup made from the ham stock for lunch today. soooooooo good. Ham was good but soup is possibly even better! just as well the person who sits next to me at work is not in tomorrow though. the soup is very good for one's 'digestion'.
well done IG! you took a baby step today where you could quite easily have said sod it. go you!0 -
:xmastree: Happy Christmas to Everyone :xmassign:
I will be around, but want to say 'HC' before everyone else disappears.
Bails - thank you for the exploding leg image (that's usually Vix's speciality). Would have been more useful before the chocolate binge - but better late then never - the image could come in handy later. :snow_laug
Vix - not meaning to offend, but you do tend to have us in stitches. Hope you get better soon, sounds yuk! OH and little monkeys made up a version of the 12 days of Christmas and sung it through from start to finish after tea tonight - I can't remember it all, but every line was gross - not far off exploding leg in grossity. Hope your carol singing wasn't going to be 'quite like that'.
Missy - so who did the flowers and chocs come from? or is it a mystery?
Beanie - enjoy your Christmas, would love one more Christmas with my Dad.
Tagz - I'd be grumpy about it too, bit of a cheek! Maybe you should suggest you all go round to hers - you could still bring the food.
Victory - how's the 2nd hair cut?
LL, BB, Suggs, Ajax, KPC, FS, IF, Marion, Granny, Raph, Efrieze, Pet, Dragon, Delly, Julesgr, Kymrob, Serendisglair, Lesley, PCL, Babykat, and anyone I may have missed (but hope I haven't) - enjoy your Christmas too :santa2:

Hi - I've done nothing but eat over the past 2 weeks so I am not getting weighed this week... I am going to do the fruit/veg option and eat loads of nice lean turkey...... Somebody gave us a large tin of quality street and we binged for a few days until there are only the scary strawberry/orange creams left lol! My binging must be over as last week I would have forced them down!
IF - reading your post was like an edited highlights of mine and many other battles here. I can understand your difficulties exercising, but it really has to become part of your life, and then it becomes part of the norm - I'm sure someone on here will come up with a great option - walking is still the best in my opinion (having just got a cute dog in the past 6 weeks I can testify to that) and you don't have to get breathless and sweaty to raise your metabolism! I always said I didn't like the gym, and didn't have time, but now go twice a week, and if I don't fancy it, the car takes me anyway as it has become a habit!
So sorry to hear about your Lighter life experience - seems such a shame to lose so much and end up back at square one, but I'm sure we've all done that in smaller and different ways.
Bails - am I the only one who would like a piccy? Professional interest I suppose...lol
Just had the turkey delivered - it's a 5kg butterfly crown thingy from a guy in the village who has a fab butchers shop in the City, not an MSE purchase I'm afraid but it will be gorgeous!
Had an emergency with the dog tonight as we went for a walk and he had a bit of carrot and must have snorted it down, and then started to choke a bit and was eating grass to try and be sick. I was quite worried so rang the vet when we got in. He was still snorting a bit, so we took him down. Of course he was sick in the car and raring to go when we got there, but the vet gave him the once over, and found a reason for an injection, and some tummy stuff so £50 later we were on our way home in a grassy/sicky smelling car!
All this and I still managed to get to aquafit at 7!! lol
Said dog is now fast asleep on the underheated floor which I think he thinks is just for him.
I will be around over Christmas (family coming to me for the designer turkey) so will be checking in but hope everyone has a wonderful time over Christmas and not too much damage to the numbers!
Tagz - I can really see how you must be feeling....families!
On a final note - my cutie niece Jessica, who is 5 and has Downs Syndrome did the 12 days of Christmas with me at the weekend and it was the cutest thing ever, each time she sang '5 go - ld wings' she fell over backwards and giggled!
Lesley xNO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........0 -
Hi there Lesley, your post made me smile for lots of reasons.
We recently opened a dreaded tin of Quality Street (I haven't binged on that so far), DS and his mate sat there and troughed all the orange and strawberry creams first off - I didn't care 'cos I don't like them either - shall I send them round to your house?
A piccy??? No...... :rotfl:
We don't let our dog have carrot anymore 'cos she was always getting it stuck and being sick, she now just grabs grass from the garden to make herself sick - and trips to the vet? We only have to walk in and they are on first name terms with our pooch!!
Jessica's version sounds lovely, my bunch were singing 5 bo_o_gies - with whopping great smirks on their faces as I sat there with my 'I'm not amused I'm your very serious mother look' on my face.
'See' you over Christmas, must go to bed - I want to get in to work early as it is the last day before Christmas.
