Home Bargains have an offer on peanut butter, if there's a store near you.

Now Asda has grabbed Netto this is the substitute?!

Look out Luton its another Northern invasion with a pincer movement at Milton Keyes & Letchworth

There are lots of offers on ice-cream at Lidl this week - I've only tried the sorbet (reduced from £1.49 to £1.19) - fruits of the forest flavour, which was pretty nice and the chocolate mini mix ice creams which were also good (reduced from £1.99 to £1.59 now).

Has anyone got any recommendations or reviews - are the faux magnums any good or the ice cream sandwiches?

The ice cream sandwiches in Lidl are amazing, as are all their products. The faux magnums too, all fantastic.

I am not bothered too much about cost, as quality and unusual choices of products you don't get in other supermarkets are important, and that is what you get at Lidl.

I like the Gellateli Almond magnum type ice cream which are 6 for £1.59 this week, usually £1.99 and still a bargain! Lovely ice cream and crispy outside mmm....:)

What's happened to all the sardines in sunflower oil.l Went to three Aldi and Lidls stores and can't get any. Guess those fishermen are only catching the ones in tomato sauce now!;)

Try rummaging under the ones in tomato sauce, In Halifax Lidl there were lots in oil buried underneath .

We've got a brand-spanking new L1dl store opened in town :j so we went to investigate this week :D As it's local we bought some chilled & frozen stuff & the results are looking extremely good. My lot have had the ice cream in chocolate biscuit that resembles "maxi b0mbs" thumbsup.gif Pup & I had the salmon in pastry; bit small but tasty--in fact he had a bit of mine too :p & me muvva had a lamb dinner. For her to say "it's nice" is praise indeed & my sister dished it up for her & said the gravy tasted good, as she licked a spill from her finger :rotfl: Ideal for those times when you've been out for the day & just want to bung something into the oven & eat it 20 mins later.
Plus their semi-skimmed long life milk is almost 20p a litre cheaper.

Last week at Aldi they had a bottle of Gerwurztraminer for a bargain £3.99. I opened one last night and within minutes felt my chest tightening and becoming breathless. Had a look at the label and there is an allergen warning on there saying "contains Sulphites and Milk products". I get very occasional spells of asthma, usually triggered by colds or flu, but have had problems with sulphites in the past.
This morning I feel like I have a terrible hangover despite only having one glass.
If anyone has any degree of asthma I suggest you avoid this wine like the plague!

    Ian.
