Just been reading this thread, as you can tell I've had a cracking Bank Hol!!! I personally do a 'big' shop on line with Sainsos once every 5/6 weeks (Basics stuff if pretty good!) and I'm fortunate to have a Lidl down the road and an Aldi in town so when I'm running low I tend to nip to either of these and have generally found the quality to be excellent in most things. Lidl chilled lasagne is always a good stand by! If you havn't used them definintely give them a go, until I found this site a few years ago I would't have dreamed of using them (God how snobby does that sound?) but you learn as you go along!! (and save money).

ps. For a treat now I wait until M&S have their £10 meal deals, don't feel I'm missing out then. :D

pps. In fact I'm drinking a delicious bottle of red from Lidl right now:beer:

    Happy Bank Hol folks

Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

I worked for Lidl for a few years and regularly shopped there as well as visiting Aldi and Netto to keep an eye on the competition (and pick up the week's bargains). Personally though, I think Lidl have started to lose their way recently and seem to be deliberately making their deals more and more complex. Fair enough to offer case deals, and I think everyone's familiar with the Monday/Thursday specials, but the thing they do now where offers on food items are only available on certain days and at certain times will just make customers resent them if they are unfortunate enough to turn up on the wrong day to pick up the deal they want.

Hi, I've bought a second sack barrow at Lidl yesterday for £14.99. This one is for my sister as she was very impressed when she borrowed ours. It was a brilliant help in the last renovation project. Really strong and collapses so that it'll go in the boot, maybe useful for car booters?:)

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

I totally agree. I find it frustrating and confusing that certain food items are only on offer Mon-Wed and others Sat-Sunday, especially if I can only get on a Thursday or Friday. I don't want to shop there more than once a week which I guess is what Lidl is trying to encourage.

Headoffice in Germany needs to stamp on Lidl UK ASAP about that as to the best of my knowledge Lidl UK is the only one that does dirty tricks like Mon-Wed food offers (Lidl Ireland food offers run the whole week).

We all know why they are doing it. Its to simply spread custom over the course of the week or forcing you to come in store several times a week but if they dont be careful they will just drive us elsewhere.
Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.
