Netto
Good
Bread
Garlic bread (3 for 69p)
Chips
Pasta sauce
Bad
Veg, they have good deals but it doesn't keep very well0 -
Supermarket: Lidl
I love Lidl - always try to shop there first then go onto Sainsbury's for anything else.
My top recommendations:
Washing tablets - no phosphates too so better for environment
Ditto Dishwasher tablets
Fabric softener - smells lovely too!
Parmesan cheese - brilliant value and lasts ages
Olive Oil
Chocolate - amazingly rich taste
Chocolate biscuits (German I think)
Shower cream - also smells lovely espec mango (good enough to eat)
Shaving foam (for himself)
Razor and blades (as above)
American cookies
Chopped tomatoes
All pasta
Couscous
Bathroom and shower cleaner
I could probably go on...!:j Don't have Netto nearby and Aldi quite a way too0 -
We love Aldi especially:
Maple & Pecan Crunch Cereal
Balti Curry Sauce
MoserRoth Chocolates
Titan bars - these are as good as mars bars but much cheaper!
Fabric conditioner
Smoked cheese slices with chillies
Orange Juice
Cornflakes
Yoghurts - the ones like fake muller corners.
However we do not like:
Aldi crisps - they are too salty
Some tomato pasta sauces don't taste of much
Window cleaner - not very good0 -
Good at Lidl
own brand mayonnaise(not the slim version)family prefer it to leading brand!
cartons of orange for lunch boxes
frozen garlic bread
frozen x3 margarita pizzas,so cheap, but toppings require "topping up"
and we LIKE the frozen peas! but then we prefer our veg "al dente"
vanilla ice cream in the royal blue tub,mmmmmmmmmm0 -
Aldi
good
All Fruit and Veg is good
vitacat 12 sachet cat food
crunchy nut cornflakes (can't remember the name)
own brand pot noodles
6 pack snack bars
not so good
Cat litter, makes a great deal of mess and goes everywhere0 -
The frozen strudel in Aldi is ace - there's a few flavours (plum and something, apple and general fruit as far as i remember). They're 99p will do 4 good portions and even have custard included inside (we bought extra custard the first time as were convinced what was inside wasn't enough - we didn't need the extra) :T0

only visited aldi as we don't have netto or lidl.
I would recommend at aldi -
marmalade
baked beans (my son is fussy but even he passed these!)
tinned tomatoes
olive oil
chocolate
any veg (sometimes it doesn't keep for too long)
clothes washing liquid (loads cheaper and it washes ok)
cooked meats
bacon
yogurts
margarine
gravy granules
packed nuts
orange/apple juice
own brand day cream (very cheap and was chosen in a magazine survey as being good)
some of their toiletries (some are better than others)
just remember to take your own bags as they are expensive to buy!0 -
My sister converted me to Aldi and some of my "likes" are:
World foods Spicy salsa dip - to die for!! :j
Ditto sour cream & chive (eating it now at work yummy)
Parsnip crisps - OMG
Hoummus esp the lemon and coriander
Crunchy nut cornflakes equivalent are good
Lacura lip glosses - gorgeous colours
My son says the oat bars (like fruit n fibre) are nice
The multipax of crisps - 26 packets for £2.00 something - great for lunchboxes
Smoked salmon (christmas) was gorgeous
Also smoked meats esp serano ham (like parma)
Have still to try lots of their stuff. The fruit / veg I have bought has kept well so far.Back in the Midlands! :j0 -
Oh forgot, cloudy lemonade is yummy, didn't last 5 minutes once DS1 tasted it!!Back in the Midlands! :j0
