I love their rye bread, tin tomatoes with herbs and their sweets are fine.
I avoid their fruit and veg as it is not kept refrigerated and has no dates on the labels
      • Dont know if this helps Johnny but one of Aldi's next offers is a re-chargeable toothbrush for under £9?
      • When is soup not a soup ? When you buy it at Lidl !! In Germany,in the winter, they make - what we call stews - and what they call soups ! Dont ask me why but it's true !!
Soooo...go to their "soup" area and find "Le Chef" 800 gramme tins of soup. There is Lentil with smoked sausages, pasta etc.etc.they will always be there because not many people ever buy them ! The point is THEY ARE NOT SOUPS BUT STEWS AND ARE DELICIOUS !! FOR AROUND £1 YOU HAVE A MEAL FOR ONE !!
BEAT THAT !! I LIVE OFF THEM IN THE WINTER.

        :T

(I cannot afford to buy and eat 5 fruit and veg a day even though every sign in Tesco insists that I should...I suspect that not many other people can either ! Sooo I buy Lidl "Solevita" Multi Vitamin Light Nector in 1 1/2 litre "bricks" and drink a half pint of that each morning instead. It costs less than a £1 and lasts for days...it works for me !!)

If you can do without electricity in your toothbrush, and clean your teeth the old fashioned way with your hands and arms...you can buy 4 yes 4 very modern toothbrushes for £1 at the mo @ Asda !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
        :rotfl:
      • Years ago in Germany I used to get that lentil hotpot, cut some more Bockwurst into it, cook ample Spaetzle noodles with it (fusilli or broken spaghetti will also do fine), stir it all together and add two spoonfuls of vinegar. That was cooking sorted for two or three days. Also works with Polish sausages, Krakovska, Wiejska, Slaska, for example. Filling and substantial.

        Love -
        fruit and veg
        part baked rolls/baguettes
specially selected frozen pizza - gold award winner
        dog food and mixer biscuits
        cooked speciallity meats
frozen cod fillets - great for fish pie
        Siana face creams etc

Hate - the way they rush you at the checkout and tell you off for not laying bottles
down or putting your trolley the wrong way. Annoying, especially when you
a boisterous 2 year old trying to help!

        Netto

        Love -
sometimes have good offers on non-food stuff - kids stuff etc
        wine

        Hate -
        fruit and veg

The linessa half fat crinkle cut crisps (multipacks of 6) instore at the moment in Lidl have a bizarre aftertaste and are best avoided.
