Mr Frosty vanilla ice cream at Aldi, mmmmmmmmmmm creamy delicious.0

Aldi fruit and veg are good and last quite a bit, food and freezer bags are also good as are cooked and uncooked meats just sorry there isn't one a little closer than the two a few miles away from me. If you ever have to take anything back to Aldi they refund without question.
Lidl cupasoups and tins of beans and sausages are good but fruit and veg only have a short shelf life.
I only buy branded goods from Netto which defeats the object really.0 -
Some ALDI favourites:
Wash & finish (Shampoo with conditioner)
Kids' toothpaste - Unodent, fruit flavoured
ISEREE anti-wrinkle cream (won an award, I think)
ISEREE cotton buds
These are Lidl products, not Aldi's.
"Iseree" is Lidl's health and beauty brand. Aldi's are "Siana" and "Lacura".0 -
Aldi:
Salmon Wellington....absolutely gorgeous. Moist, juicy fish not dry and nasty. Highly recommended.0 -
Hydrogenated fats !!!!
This stuff is not good for you in any way shape or form .In fact it is very very bad for you.
If you look at most of the chocolate and biscuits in Lidl and Aldi this is the fat it contains PLEASE BE AWARE:eek:
ThanksIf you dont ask you dont get!!0 -
Some best buy snacks/treats at Aldi
Megamouse crisps- better than Pom-bears
Romeo coconut bars covered in chocolate- could be better than bounty
fudge- very (very) sweet but addictive
hazelnut chocolate by choceur- ludicrously cheap and fantastic quality
rich tea biscuits- absolutely fine but lot cheaper than supermarket
Also-
the mince and chicken portions are good quality
gripes
- although the bread is ok (some lines better than others), none of it seems to freeze well- best not to try.
If you like good butter I'm afraid Aldi's doesn't really match up.0 -

Surely anyone that buys chocolate or biscuits doesn't do so as part of a healthy diet?0 -

If only Aldi sold:-
Bread flour (white and wholemeal)
Yeast
Organic milk
Chicken & vegetable stock
Then I would never shop anywhere else!
which cheddar cheese from aldi dont you like as ive tried a few and they've been ok, i think they do sell bread flour but only on specials and the same for the yeast,0 -
Orange Juice and Apple Juice 1.5 litre, when not sold out
Bottled cherries - great to add to cereals, plain yoghurt etc.
Gherkins - spiced and plain, but beware of Cornichons (baby gherkins) in same bottle but MUCH more expensive
Wholemeal Pitta Bread
Olive Oil - though you have to be choosy to get the brand that is both good AND cheap
Rye Bread
Tinned chopped and plum toms: same/similar price to Morrisons, but Morrisons often run out.
Goody Rice - less sweet/salty than Rice Krispies, soon get used to them. Manga characters on box MUCH cooler than Snap Crackle and Pop!
Seafood - our branch has ridiculously cheap frozen Salmon, lobster, seabream, langoustines
Tinned sardines - 35p
The chocolate ginger-cake hearts they had over Christmas were some of the best I've ever tasted
Maribel Jam - the apricot and raspberry are superb and the asymmetric jar is the weirdest ever - a devilishly clever way of saving shelf / transport space.
Seeds. Last year I got herb, vegetable and flower seeds very cheap, some interesting varieties too.
Microfibre floor cloths - very good quality for less than half what you'd pay for an E-cloth
Branston pickle is a few pence cheaper than Morrisons0
