I have just come home with the Sainsburys Mico Espejo R311 and it says in the manual that it can be programmed with Videoplus. As it is a Christmas present for my family I cannot report on the quality yet. However if anyone has questions about its connections etc I have the manual ready to browse.
BTW it was £99.95 Happy Christmas MikeTo be perfectly frank and honest....

Ordered the Matsui DVD from Currys online on Sat evening using a 5% code and a further 5% cashback with Egg card costing £107,delivered this afternoon, can`t fault the service.
If not happy, you`ve got 14 days to return to any Currys store for your money back.

I have had a Compacks dvd - 101 recorder for 5 months now. It has decided to stop recording and also it wont turn off, it has to go back to Woolworths tomorrow. Will now have to look round for a different make. Not many days left for the things over Christmas though. I have already purchased discs with some more on order, just my luck. Next one will be on recommendation from this site!!!
Having a good week the printer packed yesterday as well - but purchased a new one - what a great start for the forthcomming new year. Merry Christmas .0 -
::) Just got the Mico DVD Recorder from Sainsburys. They had sent me a tenner off voucher if I spent over fifty quid. So ended up costing me only 89.99!0

...neither of these has Videoplus. Are these recorders easy to programme or is Videoplus a definite must have or are there other features i should be looking for that are more important. I dont intend to do anything out of the ordinary...
When deciding on a piece of kit like a DVD recorder, I would distinguish between two classes of features: (1) Core functionality and (2) Nice-to-have features.
Videoplus falls firmly into the second category in my view. It just saves a bit of time. Core functionality like picture quality and the ability to play back DVDs in other players in 5-10 years++ time are more important, I suggest.
My Liteon 5005 continues to impress in my category (1). The image and sound quality of recordings is first class - as good as the original broadcast or VHS tape and you can't get better than that. But there are niggles in my category (2) which I'm happy to live with, especially for the £109 it cost me.0 -
I purchased a 5005 yesteday from argos, 149.99. It came in an organge box, with an october 04 manufacture date. However it looks different and is caleld a 5004.Waddle you do eh?0

plug the output of your Freeview box into the input SCART of the Liteon, then press the 'source' button until SCART shows up as input if you want to just watch it, or use SCART as the source in the recording settings screen. or if you want to just record it manually without going through the timer, press the Guider button and again eventually you get option to select SCART as the source.0 -
Thanks 8)
It's working now ;D0 -
