Why isn't the &More card ever mentioned as a top cashback card. You get 1% on M&S purchases and 0.5% on everything else! Seems pretty competitive to me.0

I think you're mistaken, I also have this card and it's a Mastercard issued by Citi.
I have just looked back at previous posts and it seems similar to the card halsteadk mentioned in Post 111 - I was told verbally at Barclays that it is 2% on supermarket shopping and that is why I want to know more - I have not been told that I can earn % if I use it anywhere else and I have been told that there is not any time limit to the cashback but again would like to have something in writing and will keep trying to find out moreI am not a beige person:D0 -
Babyj3, perhaps you ought to reflect on what the common denominator is in both situations – you!
MoneySavers are trying to be helpful here, but to be frank, you are being nothing short of rude.
Maybe it would assist matters if you took things up with Barclaycard formally, not us.I call that rude, when you contradict someone and insist they are wrong when they are not, it is you who are the unhelpful rude ones here
I said please and thank you and you have all ganged up on me rather than being helpful or nice or even polite
I shall not be visiting this site again and wish I had not bothered to ask for your help as you obviously don't know the meaning of being helpful and are not nice people if the way you have responded to me is anything to go byI am not a beige person:D0 -

If I use Martin's calculator and input a £4000 annual spend, the cashback comes to only £67.50. Am I missing something here
The problem with all this is that someone has to pay and that someone is unlikely to be the credit card company as they are in it to make money not give it away. It could actually be you in the end!
The cash back is provided by higher fees levied on the service provider/retailer as Amex charge a much higher percentage than other credit cards. This is why some businesses will not accept Amex cards as it costs them too much.
We are a small business and don't currently charge customers to pay by credit card and we also take Amex as their use is in the minority at the moment, but I can't say how much longer we could absorb those extra charges if there is a significant increase in Amex card use. We would eventually have to consider not accepting Amex, put our prices up, or charge for the use of credit cards as many businesses already do....... hence my warning.
I have noticed a big rise in the number of companies/businesses who levy a charge for the facility to pay by credit card and more restrictions as to when you can use one without charge (i.e. for a deposit but not to settle the outstanding balance on a purchase) so buyer beware.............. you could be inadvertently paying for your own cashback and most definitely will be at least contributing in part, if you pay a fee to use the card in the first place!
If that is the case ask yourself "Is it worth it?" as you need to deduct any fees you pay to use your card from your cashback total to get a true profit figure and some of the fees you pay could be hidden in the higher cost of the article. So the other advice is to check it's not cheaper elsewhere as to pay more for an article in order to use your cashback card is false economy too!0 -
I am delighted with my 5% back cash back card from the Utility Warehouse. It works in Sainsbury for groceries (and petrol too if I spend £50 on groceries in previous 14 days - not a challenge!), Debenhams, Boots, Argos, Comet, Mothercare, Homebase, and many other (but not all) shops. The cash-back comes off my already low Utility Bills.0

Do you have to have gas and electricty for this?
BTW - Are you a UW representative (don't know what they're called these days).
If you are you need to declare it when discussing them.
If not, then please accpet my apology but their people have been very pushy and not objective in the past.0 -

The fact that it is martin-the-wizard's first post, it would make you think that they are probably a UW distributor.
When reading the post by martin-the-wizard, it makes you think that you'd be a fool not to switch to the UW. There are posts on this forum that demonstrate that in certain cases, it can be cheaper to be with UW, but in many other scenarios, UW are more expensive. There are many factors to consider, such as the cost to be part of the UW club, the fact that the more services you take with UW, the cheaper it becomes e.g. including broadband, phone etc.
The advice is do your sums beforehand.0 -
Hi, I am a customer of Utility Warehouse and so I have several services as well as the card. I am a Distributor too - sorry, perhaps I should have declared this.
You need one or more services to participate in the Cash Back Card - as the cash-back gets taken off your Utility Bill.
Once again, apolagies if I have broken the rules - new to this site. Great ideas all over the place from Martin (Lewis that is!)

Uw reps aren't allowed to come here and abuse the sites no advertising rules by cynically looking for a thread to jump in and post glowing reports on the uw.
As far as the card is concerned, it isn't a cashback card, (you have to buy their expensive utilities, join their club and pay a monthly membership fee on top of the monthly charges for buying and topping up the card, then when you shop at around just 28 or so retailers do you "earn" a discount to be set against your monthly bil)l. There are catches - your uw account must be up to date (if you have any outstanding balance, then any discount earned that month is forfeited for ever) - the card carries risks which you are asked to accept when taking it out (your money on the card is held by the uw, not a bank, so if uw goes bust you lose any money you have on the card, and purchases don't get any of the normal protection you get when paying by card).0
