  • If only I had been able to do this at the weekend!!

(Unusually) I would have saved 2p per litre at Tesco Extra in Stockport on top of the 5p discount voucher through shopping at the store. This equates to 81.9p/litre for diesel.

The petrolprices.com site is not up to date. It is showing the cheapest price for unleaded in my area to be 89.9p. For the past week it has been 84.9p at Tesco.

If the site isn't up to date there's no point in issuing the information.

Before you can get the name of their cheapest station they ask you to fill in a form with your personal details. I wonder if they are just using using the site to build up a database for future use.

The prices in the Hastings area seem to be accurate. If the site manages to keep its information correct and current then this will be an excellent resource. Let's give the man a chance and refrain from destructive criticism - after all the site is very new and a few teething problems are to be expected. I don't have a problem with his (limited) collection of personal data. His terms and conditions and privacy policy seem perfectly reasonable to me.

I've just used petrolprices.com all seems to be fine in my area.

Keep up the good work !!
I work for TUI Group of Companies. My companies ATOL/ABTA numbers are 2524 / D5299. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it but Atol numbers can be checked on the Civil Aviation Authority website. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.

funny, i input my postcode before i signed up, it gave me three prices, highest in the area, average price in the area, and lowest in the area.

once i signed up and input my postcode again, the highest, average, and lowest price in my area were all the same, and equal to the highest price before i signed up.

    bit fishy...
  • I signed up last week and have used it a few times. So far, the date shown as updated has always been the day before the current day (which is great) and the info has been correct for every petrol station I have driven past or used. That's pretty good. I'm sure it won't always give the correct up to date price - Petrolbusters certainly didn't - but it's still extremely useful.

Sorry but I'm on LPG and in my local area the lowest cost is 33.9p ltr the site shows 39p as the lowest
  • I would love to have more LPG price reports on www.TaxiGas.co.uk
  • When I put in my postcode it says "No petrol stations were found in that area"... !!! Apart from the Morrisons, the BP, the shell etc... I mean I live less than a mile from the town centre...

I think petrolprices.com needs an update to the postcode database as my postcode (EX16 6XL) is about 6 months old.
  • Worse still I've just found that if I put in EX16 to just bring up the town I live in it lists "Tesco Tiverton" which isn't even built yet! They're still digging the foundations!
