It's BACs as the bank for some reason takes longer then all the other banks.

Sounds like it's an agency bank, as in a small-ish one that uses one of the big boys (HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds TSB) to do all its clearing for it. Most building societies, and smaller banks like Bradford and Bingley, do things that way.

Yes it is part of the Barclays group. My friend has not had that explained to her.

I agree as the number of closures will increase given the mergers.

I think in the middle of the heated discussions we forgot a few vital issues. How often will I get a statement?

    Section 7.1 of T&Cs.

Unless you choose to view statements for any of your accounts electronically and as a result, not to recieve paper statements or to recieve them less frequently, we will sed you statements for each account at least every 3 months, or if you have not used your account for at least 2 years, at least annually.

Different for Flexible Saver and Regular saver but i cba to go find that lol

I swear somewhere in this thread someone said that statements would no longer be sent out? Or am I imagining that?

From what I understand they will be sent out less frequently but then I don't have a copy of the T&Cs at hand.

The statements will be issues quarterly and somthing that has been touched upon earlier in the thread is that the accounts will be monitored for the activity and could be upgraded or downgraded as required. I think this will be on a six monthly basis.
according to the thing i got in the post its least every 3 months for active accounts, every year for inactive.
