We could launch one on facebook and get the students to join. They are really upset.

I agree with you and with crisis the first thing they are going to do is to offshore more work overseas and get in even more machines.

I am not sure what the branches are there for besides putting money in.

I am not sure if this has been asked but what about someone who earns £500 or more one month and less the next one. Which account are they going to be on?

    Good question.

Oh and BTW, this great paper saving bank called HSBC sent me 4 sheets of A4 paper yesterday with bumph about my overdraft facility that I don't want or need.

It was printed single sided, and one page had just 2 small paragraph's at the top, this just demonstrates how green they really are.

It would all have gone easily on 2 sheets, thus saving 50% paper.

...which is legally binding, and which you should therefore have a copy of. And if you deal with your OD online they'll send you it through My Messages.

Is there anything else you'd like to have a pop at them for? Maybe the coffee they serve to customers isn't high quality enough?

The thing is a joke as they give very little to charity for the amount of money that they are saving. I am sure that it is one department doing one thing and another one doing another thing. Maybe they should try joined up banking.

I would still love to know what happens to people who send in more then £500 a month some months but send in less then £500 other months. Are they going to change accounts every month?

I would imagine that it works on averages, so that someone who loses their job or has a problem with their pay or something doesn't have their current account changed because of a single month's error. Don't know for certain.

Of course, any answer I give will just start you off sneering, won't it?

Thank you. I just sent my ISA transfer paperwork today and I am a credit union customer so I am getting out gradually. My brother is moving to Natest.

Inactive have you considered Charity Bank? That is where I am moving my ISA they have UK staff who answer your emails quicker then HSBC and they are an ethical bank.

That was not the point that I was making, the documents were sent on 4 sheets of A4 when they would easily have fitted on 2, using both sides.

This from the bank that spouts paper saving for the sake of the planet.

That is constructive critisism, yet the HSBC Staff still poo poo any critical comment.

Thanks, I have accounts at other institutions, I am gradually moving my DD's etc. to one of them, I don't trust the banks to do it for me.

I have managed to close my HSBC ISA under their 14 day rule and moved it elsewhere, with a better interest rate.

    Oh BTW, I read this in the Telegraph;

" Shipping specialists say the Royal Bank of Scotland and HSBC provide the lion's share of loans for both the bulk goods and tanker fleets, exposing these two banks to further potential losses. "

Good on you inactive for moving away from them. It seems I am not the only one dumping them.
