Yes I can blame for been overly greedy lending money to anything that moved and my favourtie blaming the customers.
Customers ain't cats though, they *should* know how to control their appetite.
If they are, there should have been "Borrowers Anonymous" set up, much like there are for other addictions like drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc.
There aren't any "Borrowers Anonymous" (this site cannot count as one, it's more of a moaner's site) because borrowing is a conscious fully-meditated process to borrow money.
Just because it's easy to borrow money, does not mean you should borrow money like there is no tomorrow (I'm refraining to make an analogy here, but it got something to do with Pam and her five sisters)0 -
The people who are complaining the vast majority of them are telling the truth. The students feel cheated on the overdraft.
Yes HSBC are a very considerate bank after all they tried to cheat the students once before but the students taught them a lesson.
Actually Household a division of HSBC were involved in sub prime lending. Just because the customers want money does not mean the bank should give it to them.
I fear that HSBC may have angered a number of customers who are looking for alternatives. I will hopefully put my money somewhere else.0 -
HSBC are ones that haven't done this..... hence why they are one of the safest banks to be with at the moment
And hence why their shares price has been stable uptil now compared to other banks.
Not according to this article from the Guardian;
" HSBC, along with Santander, was considered to have escaped the worst of the credit crunch until recently, but its operations in the far east have come under strain since the credit crunch spread to Asia this autumn
:rolleyes:0 -
Good hopefully some government will take them over and make them suffer.0

Welcome back to the boards. Getting back on topic not all customers who are angry owe money and not all of us are against the system though there is not very much we can say about it that is good.
There are a number of customers who have been with you for years and feel cheated. There are also students who the bank once tried to get one over on and then the bank backed down.
HSBC is no longer interest in it's customers and providing good financial services instead what it is interested in bleeding us for the maximum gain that you can get.0 -
If anyone is interested here are 2 links on how good HSBC treat their customers http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2007/aug/25/moneysupplement.studentfinance and http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=991967&highlight=HSBC+graduate
With proof like that we should trust HSBC. I hope that the Ombudsman gives them a good talking to.
Inactive do you want to start a anti HSBC campaign with me?0 -
From reading that I can see there are 2 things;
Current Account
Big Current Account
both are free, but to get the Big Current Account features you have to pay in £500 a month.
This is the way I read it. Letter advised me I don't qualify for the Bank Account Plus, as I don't pay in £500 a month.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -

So, what you're saying is that it's a profit making enterprise, rather than a co-op? Well, this is a shock.
Actually, we do try and provide good service, but then how can you argue your case with someone whose original complaint was that they were losing their precious 0.1% of interest?0 -

Because that 0.1% could buy a 1p sweet damnit. You are taking away that priviledge!!!! Down with HSBC!!! (:D)0
