hi elky elky.i have done just that and cancelled, its a thouroughly american operation, was given a cancellation number and told not to put anything in writing as everything was cancelled(hopefully) not sure if they are going to take 99 pound though,to shook up to ask.

If it's cancelled then they shouldn't take any money. If they do, then you can report this to your bank as an unauthorised transaction.

Also, if you want to try and rebuild your credit history, consider applying for a Capital One or Vanquis card. They are designed for people with poor credit files.

  • Hi all

If you read the terms and conditions they might still charge you an application fee of £14.00

    15. REFUND OF CARD MEMBERSHIP: A. If I cancel My enrollment into the E-CREDIT PLUS™ Shopping Club Program after fourteen (14) days from this Agreement, but within thirty (30) days from receipt of the Welcome Kit and E-PLATINUM PLUS Shopping Card, I will receive a refund of My enrollment fee, but I must first contact the Company to obtain a Return Authorization number. Upon receiving My return authorization number, I will be required to return all membership documents as well as My E-PLATINUM PLUS Shopping Card to: E-CREDIT PLUSTM, 2 Minton Place, Victoria Road, Bicester, Oxfordshire OX26 6QB United Kingdom. REFUND GUIDELINES MUST BE CAREFULLY FOLLOWED TO ASSURE A PROMPT REFUND OF MONIES. There will be a fee of £15.00 deducted in the event that any debit previously authorized by Me has been returned unpaid by My bank for any reason. There will be no refund in the event that there are Unpaid Balances posted to My Account or if there are pending merchandise orders. I must allow at least seven (7) business days from the Company's receipt of My membership materials for My refund to be processed. Included in My membership fee is a non-refundable application fee. If the refund of card membership procedure is met, the Company will refund My enrollment fee only. IMPORTANT: Merchandise return policy and instructions are explained on the product order forms and/or on the shopping Web Site.

If you read through the terms and conditions then it does explain EVERYTHING in there, I know its abit tedious and they do repeat themselves but they explain all charges and costs etc they will make and they explain it is not a credit card you can only use it to shop on their website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The terms and conditions link is at the bottom of the application form before you even fill anything in. Hope this helps :rotfl:

  • In summary: You pay £100 up front and £5 per month for the privilege of being able to shop in a single webshop. You also get what you buy up to 7 months' interest free (calculated through the minimum of 15% downpayment every month).

However, 1) You cannot see the prices in this webshop before you join, 2) I believe you should be able to get 7 months interest free shopping at PC-World without paying a penny for it.
  • I was looking into options for a loan for my son who is 19 and needed to get a car now he has a job. For some reason he couldn't get a loan (something to do with his credit rating although it has to be that he doesn't yet have one as he has never had a credit card, loan, overdraft etc). The family have solved his money problem, but he has been getting emails from various companies saying they can help. Some of the APR's that have been quoted are in excess of 50% and then he gets an email offering an E Platinum card. Naturally suspicious of these types of emails I check on Money Saving Expert and low and behold my suspicions are right. Something should be done about these companies who prey on people already in financial trouble and the person who mentioned 'if it seems to good to be true then it probably is' is absolutely right - you don't get anything for nothing these days. And........thank God for Martin and Money Saving Expert. This site is brilliant, thank you everyone.:j

I was looking on their website and it says..
How long will it take to receive merchandise?
Upon receipt and verification of your order at E-Credit, merchandise should typically be shipped to you within two to four weeks, depending upon the down payment method selected and product availability. You can expect to receive your full merchandise order within six weeks.

lol Four weeks?!? I wouldn't buy from a company that makes me wait even 1 week! I wonder if they actually have any long standing customers, who use them regularly.
