I would hardly call them ruthless, unscrupulous yes but sending a few emails isnt ruthless it is down to you to check what you are signing up for before you do sign up this is why i came on here and asked the original question before i did anything further thankfully saving myself a small fortune in fees for goods i probabaly wouldnt even really need. :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Section 15 on this page, would suggest you can get most of your initial costs back if you adhere exactly to what is written.

If I was you I would make sure that everything sent is recorded, so they cannot say they haven't received anything from you.0 -

Hopefully in future whenever you are putting your personal details into an application form, you'll read the terms and conditions before hitting that Apply button.
It does clearly state the charges in the terms and conditions and by applying for it, you agreed to and accepted the terms. They can't be held responsible if their customers don't bother to read the terms. We’ve had to remove your signature. hi elky elky, just thought you should know the 99 pound signing fee was not shown at first it is only after you are approved that you realise this in the t&cs.i am 45 years old and not the sharpest tool in the box yet i am certainly not easily fooled, nor do i go into any contract blinkered, normally if i purchase anything the person or company at least has the decency to forewarn me there either is a charge or there will be a charge for said purchase or product.how many people would be happy to give away 99 pounds for the sake of been approved,i count you on one hand(maybe).0

I agree. I think it is outrageous that they charge £99 for their service. It shouldn't be allowed and of course, they don't make it easy to inform potential customers of any charges.
They should be stopped but unfortunately they aren't breaking the law. But the FSA should most certainly begin an investigation into their business practices. I'd be gunning for their heads if I were charged without it being made clear.
The terms and conditions for E-Platinum Plus states:

I'd suggest you contact them sharpish to cancel it, you'll get the charges refunded. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
