When I called the AA this afternoon, they said you have 14days to pay the cheque in.

Could someone else call 01902 325504 to confirm this?

Just spoke to them, said cheques must be received by 15th October - 7 days

Do they ask for ID by post or is it done automatically over the internet application?

Mine was done automatically and the reply from them giving the account number said I didn't need to supply anything additional. I guess it depends whether you present a clean bill of health!
  • I just applied for this account. Got the following message. Is it likely I will be able to set it up in time?

I also think I in haste I may have forgotten to click finsh at the end and just closed the browser. It did say it had been processed so would this matter? Should I apply again?

Well,i have just applied, the only thing concerning me is that i imagine they will be pretty busy sending out the letters, and if we cannot send in a cheque until then, how can it get there before the 15th?

Hopefuly all aplications will be honoured,so long as the cheque is sent within a wekk or so of receiving the further instructions. I know i am not transferrng any money until i have confirmation they will show a bit of leeway.
  • I just signed up so will give them a call tomorrow and make sure the cut-off is applying online, not them rec' the cash by cheque- guess you could always push the money from your linked account using their sort/account codes and your account number as reference *if they support that*

I know most banks do but not sure about bonds - check their details first.

i just heard on the Fool news thread that this offer is closing tonight......argghhhhh!
it is a good time to still apply? The websiet is still accepting applications online...so will that mean they will still honour cheques received in the next few days for the 7.21% offer.
  • Apply away. You don't need to deposit a penny yet. Can always not open it or put a few 100 in if it's still a good rate tomorrow.
