I've already opened it early this afternoon, just waiting for all the paperwork.

On the application, it ask for the amount you're likely invest. I entered £5K but I guess you're allowed to invest more if desired.
  • But you can only pay in in one go, BY CHEQUE.
Theres no way I'm sending a big sum through the post by cheque.
Why cant they do electronic transfers?
Is this the 21st C or what??

The cheque will be drawn on your own name. You can even put The AA in the front. Can't see any problem really.

Whilst on the web page, hold down the 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard and click on 'Refresh'.

This will clear your cache and you should then see the new advert on a completely new refreshed web page.

Many institutions do this. They can check that your money is coming
from a bona fide source, i.e. an existing account elsewhere, and not laundered. It's not a 21st century problem in the sense that they don't
know about the internet, they want to check your money is "good" money.

Make sure it's payable to yourself.

Unless you're called C ASH or some such similar name!

I now have my money cleared and form completed ready to post, but in view of the link with HBOS, is it a wise move at the moment?

You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.
  • The worst that can happen is that you get back what you paid in. Not making a loss is attractive at the moment.

Started mine. Gotta put it somewhere and it is as safe there as it is in any other UK bank, but the reward is better. Just my opinion, not an expert, but you could spend all year worrying about where your money is and miss out on the interest.
