  • Shock, horror, are you saying that I have actually had some luck this week by opening a good rate bond just before they cut rates and withdraw it???

How long do you reckon I have to hang fire? Say I were to apply tonight, and "dither" in sending me cheque in, (ie actually sit on the FSCS to give me my money from Icesave) do you think it might be possible to open said account?

When I called the AA this afternoon, they said you have 14days to pay the cheque in.

Could someone else call 01902 325504 to confirm this?

I doubt you will get the money back from FSCS in time to open this Bond.

The sort code for the AA account CAN receive fast payments, it will be a lot faster than cheques.
    Vodafone sucks.
  • Anyone else going for this? I've about 50k maturing this coming monday at 6.7% so plonking that plus interest at 7.21 would be awesome, esp as the rate has been cut by 50bp today.

What are the (non-ICICI) competitors of AA doing bond-wise? Where's next best?

OK I just rang and they confirm they will honor the cheque deposit for up to 2 weeks.

Also told in no uncertain terms that it should be applied for today as it deffo closes at midnight tonight

The initial payment has to be made by a cheque.
