Just go for it, I doubt the eggs know it's 12 hours past the 30th and have suddenly turned. I always figure a supermarket will give 1-2 days leeway with a bb date as they won't want load of customers complaining something went off or made them ill before the bb date.

    Hi alipops,

Have a look at this link (with pics): Fresh Egg Test

I've added your thread to the existing one on eating out of date eggs where you'll find more opinions.

I put them in a bowl of water and as long as they don't float up to the top, I use them. We keep our own chickens so we don't have dates stamped on them - there are occasions when I or the OH forgets to write the date on the eggs as they are laid and this is the best way I have found to know whether they are OK. Eggs keep a lot longer than you would think!

  • just for a useless peice of knowledge how to check if a egg is hard boiled or an uncooked one

spin it then stop it with your finger by lightly pressing on top of it when you release you finger if it starts spinnig on its own its an uncooked one

usefull if you loose your hardboiled egg in your egg basket

"We keep our own chickens so we don't have dates stamped on them"
you need to upgrade your chickens to the ones that print as the egg comes out
