Hi FE, thats good that your BP is being sorted out. You never know, this could be your key to a BFP! Getting our bodies in order is definitely a positive thing so it can only help, I'm sure!

Did anyone else see in The Sun yesterday about whether you can try for a boy or girl (in particular)? (I know, I read the downmarket trash, lol)! I started getting in a right panic because there was a bit about having an orgasm being good for conception! Luckily I have now been reassured that this is not imperative for bding. Cos I don't know about you lot but the big O is a bit elusive for me sometimes! Not saying I don't enjoy myself, but don't always get the big finish. Its one of them things that you never really admit though, isn't it  . Well anyway, I've cleared up my worries about that!

Hope you got on ok today ginvzt!

Hope everyone is feeling good and positive!

Thanks all! I am still tired today - my shoulders are so tense, it feels like I have a know there. It was far worse yesterday!!! Will try to take a bath tonight, that might help (I am a shower person...)

Just got back home - was working in another office today 120 miles away, so had to leave at 6:45 this morning and just got back! Still even though it is tiring to drive for 5 hours a day, I love going there as people seems to be so much friendlier there and I always have a good chat and laugh!

(I saw 2 rainbows today - one on the way to work and one - double! on the way home! I love rainbows!!!!!)

we tried for over 5 years doctors could find nothing wrong & could only suggest IVF then I saw an artlice about Foresight - a charity which helps people with problems in conceiving. We both had our hair tested ( I was sceptical) were told that our vitamin/ mineral levels were wrong & given a recommended course of vitamins. For 4 months we gave up alcohol & took so many vitamin tablets we rattled and then the first month we started trying again -success!
They are definitely worth contacting but to stand the best chance you both have to stick to the programme
  • Hi everyone, I didnt know you were all here - I thought it was a bit strange only having the super fertile left!!

I have been trying for no2 since I had DS, 5 years ago now. I have had 2 miscarriages, and lost both my parents in that time, so it has been a very mixed time for us. We have had 3 unsuccessful attempts at IVF and are still carrying on. We were supposed to be IVFing this month but my follicles have been very badly behaved and matured too quickly for my dates so its off for this month, try again next.
A word of warning for the Agnus Castus takers - I have been taking it and Im not sure if that is why Im getting the early ovulation - basically one of my follicles was massively big for my dates - day 6 and not far off popping - which sounds ok, but the rest of my cycle was normal - so even IF the follicle contained an egg, which had matured far too fast, the lining of my womb was not sufficiently prepared to accept it - so even if I had fertilised it, it would have been useless.
I am not saying this was the AC, but I think it frightened me a bit that we perhaps dont really know what effect these things have and assume they are perfectly natural when we could be doing more harm than good.

Good luck to all, and a big thank you from honey pop for posting her BFP - I love to hear a success from a long termer!!

I watched a documentary a few years ago and they had inserted a little camera inside a woman to film what happened during orgasm. If I remember rightly when she orgasmed her cervix "dipped" up and down and they said that this aided conception as it "dipped" down into the sperm that was "waiting" there so allowed easier access.
Personally I don't think it would make much difference.

    Thanks Lilo for the warning.
I have read online that some women experience early ov and some say they were oving too late.
I was considering starting AC but I think I'll leave it for now and carry on with the monitor and see if and when I ov and if I think AC might help I'll probably e-mail my fertility consultant and see what he thinks.
I don't want to do anything that might mess us up, even for a month or two.

I am taking AC this month for the first time. So far I haven't noticed any difference - I am on CD12 and I haven't got the temperature spike yet. From the previous months it seems like my temp goes up in the later part of the month day 16-18, that is why I through to try it. I got my OV sticks - did one on Wednesday and got a faint line. I did one last night, but very late (after 8pm), so got really faint line. Will try to do one more today when I get back (should be earlier than yesterday!!!) so will see what that says.

A question for others using sticks and monitoring BBT: after you get positive on OV stick, when do you notice the temp go up? I tried sticks for a couple of months earlier and it seems like it takes 3-4 days after positive for me for my temperature to go up.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Well, had joined the other TTC thread a few days ago, but as I have been trying since January 2006, I thought I might as well join this merry band too!

For anyone not tuning into the other thread, I am 39 (40 in Jan) and OH is 36.

I have been monitoring ovulation over last three months and haven't registered OV yet. OH has some issues in that he has also a low count due to an operation he had in his early 20's.

I have just made my first appt with the fertility clinic for 17th November (no local ones available so have got to do an 80 mile round trip). I am lined up to have two blood tests before then with GP, but thought I would go ahead and book - was shocked to discover no appts available at nearest two hospitals though (esp. as they have threatened to close one of the units down!)
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Finally plucked up the courage to book a doctors appointment for this afternoon, to find out why no period since June. Whatever the reason, its going to be bad news :(
