Not impressed. Do you know why? At 1.01pm BST I managed to secure a room at the Bo Phut, for 12 quid. And do you know I'm taking with me to mix my Whisky Sours? Yes - David Tennant.

Well I've just found out about this unmitigated balls-up.

I take issue with anyone on this thread who is calling others 'cheapskates' or 'wanting something for nothing'. This promotion was supposedly a legitimate attempt to sell cheap rooms and everyone expected to have a CHANCE to at least get a room. Everyone has a VALUE attached to their time (whether a student, unemployed or working)...and many chumps, including myself, spent their lunch hour clicking repetitively on the refresh button hoping to get through. We all had a legitimate expectation that we'd at least have a chance to get a room, and for that we gave up OUR TIME.

Anyhoo...'Leading Hotels of the World' certainly don't have 'leading management', they have now made themselves out to look like an inefficient company...of course, they knew it would lead to massive traffic. You can't buy bad publicity like that!

I'm still confused about whether anyone actually got rooms. On the LHW website they don't exactly mention this, and in the email with the form attached they 'sorta' mention it. Of course this is the 'first come first served' email, but half the people don't seem to have received it (they can't even get that right!). :rotfl:

This isn't money saving. It's people trying to get something just because it's going cheap. I get the temptation, but I'm not going to waste a day on it. If you want to, that's fine. But the bitterness in this thread is disgusting.

And, for the record, I saw David Tennant play Hamlet at the RSC last month and would happily pay full price to see it again. Some things are worth paying full price for. If you don't understand that, your life must be incredibly sad.

I could appreciate your first comment, but you're annoying me now.

I know some things are worth paying for. But I'm a student, with less than no money and so this offer is the only way I could possibly stay somewhere so nice.
