Me neither, even now I have just had to purchase a new item for a buyer as I listed that I had 2 by mistake and only had one .I loose a little but would rather that than an unhappy buyer.

Ebay told her you must pay more................. :rotfl:  :rotfl:

Quite right. I have often had to pit myself a little out of pocket rather than upset a buyer. Its not so much about feedback is it? Its about word of mouth - and your own self respect.:D

Well I've escalated it now so I will wait and see what happens.

Incidentally, she has 16 feedback, 14 of which were for buying and 2 for selling and I am using a buying account with 23 feedback so she probably thinks that my only account.

I regularly set up new buying accounts for various reasons, but it never ceases to amaze me with some of the bull that people come out with when they think you are a noob.

There is a lot of feedback snobbery out there, and I still have an email from some snotty woman who said that "being a new member, you should be grateful that a seller of my level and feedback will deal with you in the first place, let alone be dictated by you.". I only asked if she would send the item by Special Delivery!! I was so tempted to reply with my uber-selling ID...

She only had 400 odd after 4 years - hardly an oracle!

Feedback is quite emotive isn't it? I remember last year sometime a temp at work joining in with a discussion about ebay (it was after I had lost my PS status) and she was all smarmy as she was going to be a PS and had emailed ebay to ask why she wasn't showing the logo. It turned out that she had got to 100 feedback and thought it was automatic if you sold that sort of level within a year or so of joining..she actually would not believe I had (at the time) 3000 feedback at 100%..and probably still does not believe it as I refused to tell her my ID.

With you on that one - I can't stand it when workies try to get personal eBay info out of me!

I'm kinda with you on the 'franking machine' issue. Obviously it'd be wrong for someone to be having a crafty go of the NHS franking machine and other instances..... perhaps I'm just a little niave but I believe that karma will catch up with you hence I don't help myself to the company stationary cupboard. By the same token I wouldn't go grassing people up though...

    S.

PS. Sorry to be detracting from the main topic of the post!

I think I have already deviated all over the place.Naughty Soolin:naughty:

I also believe a bit in karma, it just seems from my experience that genuinely 'nice' people seem to do better than those who are out for all they can get from life at to hell with who they hurt.

AS I SAID EBAY SAID THIS IS A MISTAKE AND YOU CAN’T BUY A HARDBACK BOOK FOR LESS THAN £4 AS IT IS NOT ALLOWED. ALSO YOU DIDN’T PAY ENOUGH FOR THE POSTAGE AS IT WAS 1.80 AND I ONLY GOT 1.54 FROM PAYPAL AS YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DEDUCT FEES FOR SENDING ME MONEY. EBAY SAY IF YOU SEND ME £4 IN THE POST THEN I AM ALLOWED TO SEND YOU YOUR BOOK.

That is the most ridiculous excuse. I find it so hard to believe that ebay would say that. Let us know what happens.

I know it's wrong guys. I can't justify it really but if I see other people putting letters (and recorded ones) in I can't help myself. I get the naughty devil on my shoulder saying "go on a couple of packets won't hurt anyone". I would just like to add though I don't use anything out of the stationary cupboard for my personal gain and I don't work for the NHS. He He!

Are there any rules about setting up more than one ebay account for one person? Why would you want to do that? Just curious.

I have several IDs and that is perfectly OK on ebay as long as none of the IDs interact with each other.

I have a main selling account and at least 2 smaller selling accounts for unique products (although one of those in now entirely unusued). i also have several buying accounts, which has the advantage that I can buy one day and resell the next if I choose. i am also less likely to fall foul of a malicious bidder if I run into problems and had bought on my selling account.

You can have as many accounts as you want, each one just needs a different email address, and only 8 can be attached to a paypal account at any one time - although it is easy to remove and add them as needed.

    For example;

    1or more business Selling Accounts
    1 personal Selling Account
    1 personal buying account
    1 business buying account
1 ID for posting on the eBay message boards

Beyond this, I have a couple of accounts that I keep separate for strategic reasons - It's pointless trying to sell a wide range of products from the same ID, instead I can use separate ID's to target buyers, and to improve Search Engine Optimisation.

I also have a stable of buying accounts that have been or will be targetted selling accounts at various times.

It's also possible to have up to 3 paypal accounts - 1 personal, 1 business micro account, and 1 business regular account - again they need to be attached to separate bank accounts, all with DD capability.

The golden rule is that no account shall interact with another, or they all come down like a house of cards.

The combined feedback across all of my accounts is around 40k, but it's no longer possible to merge accounts, so they are all having to stay separate.
