I forgot to mention that I bought a travel safety gate which means I can keep the door to the hall and kitchen open, allowing L'mao to see and smell but not actually access them just yet. The travel gates are soft mesh rather than bars and in one of her crazy running around fits, she ran straight into the mesh and bounced off it :rotfl:
I bought the gate for when we get the puppy as well, I'd like to keep certain parts of the house 'off limits' to begin with. I need to get a gate for the stairs as well...it's like having a crawling baby all over again!0 -
Gorgeous kitties all round - I'm jealous!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

hi guys, good to hear about everybodies kitties! I love reading about them.
Froglet, part of me wishes she could stay I am quite attached to her now. But I did promise no more cats so....... Her new home has fallen through though. The lady who was going to have her is having to move back in with her mother so can't take on a new kitty. How she had no idea that this was going to happen last week I don't know!!! So hunting for a new home resumes.0 -

Nope, never;)"there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -

I come as a job lot me. 2 kids, dozens of waifs and strays, and some disabilities to top it off! It is very much a case of love me, love my ever changing menagerie:D ...........or sod off!
No wonder there are no takers:rotfl: .
Aylana, glad to hear that the forcing the issue worked out well - it is a wonderful feeling when they settle down and purrrrrrrrr that first time isn't it? I am totally addicted to it - which is why I am so useful as the feral tamer
. Puss is very beautiful btw! As is L'mao! Will break your heart to part with her I am sure, but someone else will get a lovely little lass to leave her pawprints on their heart! Sorry it took ages to come back to the thread - have not been too good lately.
Thank you for rescuing her :T - and good luck with getting a nice new home for her. Good luck also with the Uni course."there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -
Sorry to hear you're not feeling so good, moggylover

L'mao was given access to the hall last night, this was her first time ever on carpet...she went utterly mental, ran round and round, had to be told off umpteen times for scratching (directed to scratching post each time, just to be given a look of disdain) and has now discovered a fun 'somersaulting off the bottom step' game. Stairgate is in place about a third of the way up so she's got enough stairs to play on but can't get upstairs. She has to be picked up to go on the sofa because she can't get up on her own and she's currently curled up next to me purring her little tiny head off

Awwwww, my heart keeps melting.
I've never had a kitten. Nearest I had was two 6 month old ferals - brother and sister.
Brother (Timmy) never grew up and used to hide and ambush sis (Min) who just used to give him a look of absolute disgust and box his ears. She was a bit of a diva.

I was doing some research regarding cat toys and the same things came up over and over again, low power laser pointers.
I remember my cats many years ago chasing a torch beam 'spot' around the floor, so I purchased this now I've satisfied myself that the pointer isn't going to do L'mao any harm and it seems a good deal.
Aghgh! I had to stop halfway through this post to retrieve L'mao from behind the fire, she'd discovered a small hole she could get into...0
