Quick update: We managed to get the kitty out from under the bed eventually. It launched an escape mission pushing the bedroom door open running downstairs and into the living room where the dogs chased it behind the settee. We managed to catch it again and have relocated it into the bathroom. There are no hidey holes for it to vanish under there. We have had to remove all bottles and stuff as it ran rampant in there at first cos it was frightened. We have flea'd it. But now it seems quite traumatised again!! So I don't think I have really achieved much now!

All little cats are terrified at first. I bought Ted from a breeder & he had been well treated in a family home - but he was still scared when I brought him home. Cat Nip brought him out of his shell & hes been full-on-in-your-face-won't-leave-you-alone-pain-in-the-neck since:rolleyes:

Just keep trying he will come round.
De worm him too, you don't want any nasties, what did you de flea him with, Frontline would be good as you just drop it on the back of the neck.

On another note "cat lovers", I've just bought a £1,500 new bed & Ted is using it as a scratching post at night sometimes  (wakes me up too:mad: ). He doesn't do it with anything else, apart from his post, except the new bed.

Shall I send him to the US for the claw removal op:D (JOKE:rolleyes: ).

I did shut him out one night, but feel sorry for him. DD said she got up in the middle of the night to use the loo & he was sleeping at our door & cried out to her as she passed:( :( So we gave in & let him back in:rolleyes: :o

lol, what a softy you are MrsE! I wouldn't dare spend that much on a bed though. The current one lasted a couple of weeks before one of the cats had ripped open the side of the base so she could sleep inside it.

Cats don't care about money or aesthetics, they care about good sleeping places and having it all their own way!:rotfl:

Anyone ever have a cat which didn't like a lovely pile of clean washing?

Or I could just kick out OH???? :rotfl:

He waited stoicly until I left the room to grab some lunch before coming out to eat some food. Then he hid again when I returned. I had to pop out this evening and while I have been out he has eaten the rest of the food. He is going to be a tough cookie to crack!

Kitty or OH??? Oh I know you meant kitty but it made me laugh-imagining some bloke behaving like that. Mind you-my OH is rather like that which is why it amused me.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ah that is great. You must be really excited! Do you have any name ideas yet?
We've got to go through the whole home check thing first but I can't imagine it'll be an issue.

She's 7 weeks old approx, the mum gave birth outside somewhere and was discovered and taken in to somewhere safe, the rescue lady thinks she's definitely been a house cat though because she's lovely natured and really laid back. Looks like the owner kicked her out when they realised she was pregnant :(
Hopefully 'my' tortie will have the same nature although she seemed a little highly strung when I picked her up for a cuddle. She was playing quite happily with her brother though and rolled over for a tummy tickle. Shame I've got no room for mum and the brother (ginger tabby) as well!!

Names, well, I was going to call her 'Lol' as in 'Lolcat' but I'm leaning more towards Moglet because I used to have a cat called Mog who I had to give away due to moving into student accommodation for a while. We'll see when she gets here :)
  • So, Aylana - any updates? Come on woman don't keep us waiting!!

In the meantime, I picked mini-kitty up this morning and have decided to call her L'mao.

She's not timid but has taken up refuge under the dining room table as she obviously feels safe there. I think she's more overwhelmed than afraid. I've left her in the dining room for now to let her get used to her surroundings, will introduce her to the rest of the house slowly and of course, the puppy... (that'll be fun :rotfl:)
